I'm pretty sure I remember the thread about your bitchy ex-wife and nasty court battles so, yeah, that probably counts as bad.

Yes, if you get paid for OT, it's much better than if you're salary, true, but it doesn't make up for it. If you know what you're getting into, mandatory OT can be acceptable as part of the job, that's very true. But getting 10 or 20 extra hours of OT, out of the blue, even if you're paid time and a half, tends to suck.

My wife works tomorrow...she's a nurse, she knows she'll have whacked out schedules. So, I am bringing my 18 month old daughter with me...and letting her loose on the floor. If they expect people to comply, they'll also have to expect people can not change previous arrangements.

She has been very cordial after she found out that I have been recording our conversations. It's like a dream come true!

I lost my wallet

I don't think there's any worse feeling in the world to me than losing my wallet. I made the idiotic choice of wearing sweatpants with no back pockets. I only had $15 in there and no credit cards, but not having my drivers license makes me ill. DMV *shudder*

Yup, by the end of the day the fallout and the way that others around me decided to handle this mistake have me so angry that I sent e-mails to a few friends locally asking if their respective places of business were hiring, re-activated my monster.com resume, with the intention of having it publicly viewable by the end of the weekend, and am now posting on a public internet message board from work about my frustrations.

Basically, despite the fact that for the last two years its been my responsibility to maintain the users and to clean up some shit here and there, the situation is being treated by a few people as if I maliciously hacked into the server. This is on top of a long line of conversations about how everything gets blamed on our department(being in development the onus is often on us to prove that a problem is not our fault, but even after we make that effort management still says things like "well it looks like its on you guys anyway"), and on top of that the numerous projects, weekends worked, in one case an entirely holiday weekend spent at the office working for a deadline, only to find out that no one else was ready for the work and the project has been delayed for 2 months. That happens so frequently here that its laughable.

Ahhh, venting, sure does help.

Yep, DUI wins.

My wife lost her debit card today. Not that big of a deal since she cancelled it and another one is in the mail today.

My uncle Dean passed away this afternoon. My aunt found him not breathing when she came back from running errands. He had Downe's Syndrome and a weight problem. He was 36.

My condolences. This was meant to be a lighthearted thread about Friday the 13th. I'm sorry for your loss.

Thanks. I'm more concerned for my aunt. They were close and she lost one her sons to suicide some time back. I hope she takes comfort in knowing that my uncle didn't suffer.

Damn, sorry to hear about your uncle, duckie...

Worst thing that happened to me today was I broke a bottle of MGD while I was setting up the bar this morning. I did also get my ass kicked during lunch, but the fact that I made good money because of it helped to ease the pain...

OK, I was going to post a smart-ass reply here, but seeing as how a few people have had legitimately bad-shit happen to them today, I'll refrain.

My condolences for those that have had bad stuff go down.

My father had surgery yesterday and something went wrong with the anesthesia due to his other medical conditions and was put in ICU last night, woke up early today and going to see him soon.

I tried to get tickets to a club but couldn't but all my friends did get tickets and did go to the club and it was a really good club and they all had a really great time and I just stayed in all night playing Civ 4 into the early hours of the morning and they came back and told me how great everything was and how I should have been there instead of playing Civ 4 for hours.

So no, nothing bad really.

Oh yeah, a couple we're good friends with had their first child just after midnight on Friday. She couldn't push it out quickly enough to avoid Friday the 13th.
