The Oscar De La Hoya Dynasty (FN3, XBL)
Note: I will be playing the Xbox 360 version of Fight Night Round 3 for this dynasty, and strictly using Oscar De La Hoya in Welterweight and Middleweight fights.
OSCAR SET TO FIGHT SUGAR RAY LEONARD AT MSG! Oscar De La Hoya is currently 6-1, his only loss coming to Jake Lamotta. He has already defeated Sugar Ray three times. Oscar comes into this fight very confident, having won his last two bouts. |

OSCAR vs "SUGAR" RAY LEONARD
From Madison Square Garden Round One: Sugar is controlling, but Oscar is effectively countering. Now Oscar is bobbing and weaving, and landing hard shots to Leonard. Leonard is still landing clean shots, Oscar needs to do a better job of protecting. End of round. Analysis: Oscar was having trouble early in the round, but as soon as he figured Sugar Ray out, he took it to him. Leonard wins the round 10-9 in a very close one. Round Two: Oscar comes out aggressively, and Ray is taking advantage of it, nailing Oscar with some big hooks and uppercuts. Okay, Oscar is slowing down the pace, looking for openings, and getting clean body shots. Whoa! Oscar is parrying and nailing Leonard with huge hooks! Leonard may go down! Oh, he clenches and is able to stay on his feet. End of round. Analysis: Oscar has now taken over the fight, and was very close to knocking Leonard out. Leonard has a gash above his eye now. Oscar easily wins the round 10-9. (20-18 Oscar) Round Three: Once again Oscar comes out aggressively, then slows it down. Leonard is really getting beat up, he's trying everything to stay competitive, even switching up stances, but nothing is working. Uh oh, Leonard is looking woozy! And Oscar knocks him down with a nice hook! Leonard is up on 3, but still looks dazed. Oscar is content with the knockdown and doesn't challenge Leonard. End of Round. Analysis: Oscar looked great this round, and you could see Leonard getting frustrated as the round went on. The gash above Leonard's eye is getting worse, as Oscar did a good job of attacking it last round. Leonard tried to protect it too much, which lead to the knockdown. Oscar with the knockout, 10-8. (30-26) Round Four: Oscar is now trying to out box Leonard, and is doing well. Leonard is landing more shots now, and is controlling the round. Can Leonard get back in this fight? Oh! Oscar lands a huge shot to the head, and this may be it for Leonard, he goes down!!! Leonard gets back up on 4. Once again Oscar is content with the knockout and dodges Leonard for the rest of the round. End of round. Analysis: That may have been Leonard's best round, but Oscar was able to land big shots when he needed it and knocked out Leonard. Another knockout for Oscar, he's way up on the scorecards, 10-8. (40-34) Round Five: Oscar comes out swinging and Leonard has no response! He's down, and he's not getting back up! KO! Analysis: It didn't take long for Leonard to go down, and stay down in round five. OSCAR WINS IN A FIFTH ROUND KO. ANALYSIS FROM OSCAR HIMSELF: "Well, I controlled the fight from the beginning, and I was able to open him up above the eye in the third. From there it was pretty smooth sailing. He tried to hard to protect the eye, and it opened up his body. He still was landing good shots, but he didn't have enough left to sustain it, and I was able to finally KO him in the fifth." OSCAR IS NOW 7-1. OSCAR WILL MOVE DOWN TO WELTERWEIGHT FOR HIS NEXT FIGHT. Last edited by MrKordell : 02-26-2006 at 09:57 PM. |
