OT- Internet Explorer Download Problem
My problem is I can not download any files for the internet. For example I can not download a zip file from the underdogs or worse yet, I can not download/view the pdf solutions for my classes. The later is especially bad considering I am writing final exams right now! I have pleanty of space on my hard drive, I have checked the security settings and downloads are enabled. I am using the newest version of IE, any help would be appriciated.

I mean it won't let me download anything. I click on it and it times out. Which is very strange considering i have a cable connection. I just get a message that says IE can not open this site.

hmm, try looking at your settings, and try having it autodetect that may fix it.

underdogs is very hit and miss, I time out there frequently -- try downloading somewhere else. Are you behind a firewall?

Nope not behind a firewall. It will not let me download anything. I can just view web pages. Does not matter what site.
Airhog, where is this autodetect you speak of? |

Do you have Netscape downloaded anywhere? Have you tried it? |

look at this webpage....
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=183506 also I read that if you have Go!zilla installed, and it is corrupted it can cause you not being able to download. if it only is happening on Ftp sites then its a bug with IE6.0 go grab the patch. If nothing else works, go redownload the latest version of IE, and make sure you install the SP1

one last thing I found
Click 'TOOLS', then 'INTERNET OPTIONS' and then the 'SECURITY' tab. Next click the 'CUSTOM LEVEL' button and drill down to the Downloads section. Be sure the 'File download' selection is marked 'Enable'.

Worse news, i started up the internet explorer setup and than it tried to download stuff from the internet, which it can't do. Now i've put in an email to HP and it looks like I might get some service, they have not referred me back to microsoft yet.
