Which is better FBCB or TCB?
I have them both but have no idea which one is more accurate or realistic. Obviously TCB's interface is better but is the game better, more immersive, etc.

This has been discussed at least once before, and I believe it's merely a matter of prefence. I've toyed with the TCB demo and will likely buy it at some point, but FBCB continues to get the most play out of all games I own.

I'm partial to TCB, but just to let you know I HATE hoops(this past few weeks have been BORING as....to me). I do own both though don't play either much.

Never played TCB, but I love FBCB. One of my top ten games all-time, and one of my two favorite text sims.

I own both and played the heck out of FBCB. But I think TCB surpasses it in nearly every category. In fact, I can't think of any categories in which I like FBCB better, except that there are slightly fewer clicks in the recruiting phase of FBCB (but I still like TCB's recruiting better).
The in-game coaching and overall team strategies in TCB seem to be much more in-depth and immersive to me. I do still think very highly of FBCB, but I like just about everything about TCB better. Last edited by MJ4H : 04-02-2006 at 09:14 PM. |

I like and own them both.
I still play FBCB after owning it for several years. I think its stats and results are a little more realistic. In particular, you seem to see a little bit more variance in game results, in my opinion. Its scheduling is far superior, in my opinion. I also really like the intricacies of managing your program--there is a dynamic you have to choose between with your spending, whether it be recruiting based or coaching based (unless you are a huge program with money enough for both). TCB, I just got into a few weeks ago. It has a great "universe" feel to it and I like it a lot. I do think it is a bit too easy, as I have built WVU into a powerhouse program w/ like 4 titles in the first 9 seasons, with like 7 Final Fours, but, to be fair, I have not tried with a smaller school yet. I really like the recruiting and also the player transfers. The transfer system is really a huge addition that I enjoy a lot. I also really like that players gain proficiency in different offenses and defenses--it is a great addition. The recruiting is much deeper, as well, and I like that each school has different academic requirements. Also, the player personalities really seem to effect the team, so it is good to see that implemented beyond comsmetics. |

why?
by simply reasking we actually get sports simulation thread near the top of the board. Seems that almost ALL toppics have been covered so unless we are to simply spend our days constantly bumping old threads I'd say..... Ask away instead of searching. Tis better for FOFC

Also, FBCB has a little easier learning curve and moves a lot quicker (making it nicer for online play).
