Very interesting if true...your comment makes me wonder if im missing humor? I can see the points made being true though, and confirms what i felt about it being a vocal minority and not the majority who were supporting this extreme assaults, not only on americans

Don't think this changes much with respect to Iraq, as it appears he's been growing increasingly marginalized in recent months.

If al-Zarqawi really is losing basically his entire support base, though, he could wind up as a head on a pole for the Bush administration heading into November's mid-terms, though. I mean, I imagine there's somebody who'd be willing to grab at the $25 million without the risk of retribution from the insurgents.

Wonder how that'll play out.

Zarqawi put out a statement a couple months back with a big part about how he goes to sleep every night with a suicide bombing vest on. Speculation was that the statement was directed more at other insurgents than the coalition/Iraqi government.

I think Republicans have Bin Laden tied up in a back room somewhere just for that purpose.

Doubt it. With everything else that's happened lately, why wouldn't they have already played the trump card? It would effectively shut up the opposition on the national security issue, instead of Democrats vowing they're going to "take [it] back."

Waiting just lends to the image of incompetence and feeds conspiracy theorists the later you wait to pull him out.

dola: I'm still going on the assumption that you're actually joking. Please don't do anything to make me think otherwise.
