Computer Clock question
I just built myself a new computer, including an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe motherboard. Everything is working well but I am experiencing something I have not experienced before.
The clock (lower right hand corner of screen) gains about 5 minutes every 8 hours. If I was Quiksand, I would now ask you how many times the time would be correct in a given month. Instead, I will ask is there a jumper on the board to reset the clock. A BIOS option? Is it a bad battery? What is the long-term effect of having a screwy clock. (Right now I am just synchronizing the clock a few times a day...) Oh yeah, Win XP Pro with all updates, newest drivers, etc. |

Click on the clock and go to the "Internet Time" tab, and make sure it's not checked....... That's most likely your problem...

On a side note, I just built a computer with the same motherboard about 2 days ago. Awsome performance.

I put a 2500+ Barton (333 Front Side Bus). Very happy with the performance so far.
Great deal on the motherboard, CPU, RAM and case (including 2 fans) from NewEgg.com - all less than $400. And LionKing I unchecked the box. Will see if it works. (If it does, then I feel silly ... so I am hoping it is something much more involved. ) |
