I'm With Stupid, Volume 38
I finally won one of these things, so I get to host My esteemed colleague RonnieDobbs also won, and he has supplied three of the questions. Here are the rules and questions for this set...
IWS Rules This is copied from IWS #37, which was copied from IWS #32, and those rules were copied from previous versions of the game. The object of this contest is to answer the questions posted below, and to provide the most common answer among those submitted. This answer does not have to be correct. For each question, your score will be equal to the number of people who submitted that response. Your score for the contest will be the product of your individual question scores. Highest score wins. Example: If you answer 'Frog' to question one, and 6 other people did too, you get 7 for that question. Your total score is the product (that's multiplying, for those non-math inclined ) of all six of your scores. So if you get, say, 1, 15, 7, 9, 4, 3, you'd end up with a total of 1 * 15 * 7 * 9 * 4 * 3 = 11,340. Send your entries by private message to me, Vince, via PM on the FOFC board. If I run out of space on my private message system, only those actually received will be considered. When I post bumps, I will post the people from whom I have entries so you can make sure that I have received yours. Entries must be submitted by 8:00 PM (PST) on Wednesday May 21, 2003. I'm on the West Coast, so y'all get an extra hour or three, depending upon where you are. There aren’t many rules or clarifications necessary, but here are those I can think of: No collaborating in any way. No posting your answers to this board, nor sharing them by email or in any other way with other potential contestants. All determinations of matches and anything else requiring judgment fall to the sole administrator of this puzzle. There will be no appeals or contesting of the results; RonnieDobbs and I are going to make the final decision. You can, however, reduce the need for doubt and judgment on our part by properly spelling your submissions, being clear, that sort of thing. Anything that gives us clear and precise knowledge of how to determine whether your answer is the same as another answer is very helpful both to me and to you. (Answering Cincinnati Bengals is probably clearer than answering Cincinnati, for instance) The winner of this contest will become the host of the next "I'm With Stupid Contest. If he chooses not to host the contest, the next highest placing participant who wishes to host may do so. In the event of a tie, one winner will moderate, and all winners will have the option to contribute questions. The winner(s), of course, also retain the right to have their screen names published as past winners of the contest for all future versions. And that's nothing to sneeze at, I'll tell you. IWS #'s 1-28 can be found linked in this thread. IWS #'s 29-37 can be found at the following links... #37 - Both Questions and Results #36 - Both Questions and Results #35 - Questions, Results #34 - Questions, Results #33 - Questions, Results #32 - Both Questions and Results #31 - Both Questions and Results #30 - Questions, Results #29 - Questions, Results and here are the long awaited questions... 1) In the MLB, who will win the NL Central this year? 2) Who will win the 2003-2004 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award? 3) What has been Jack Nicholson's best movie? 4) Not including Coke or Pepsi, what is the best soft drink? 5) Which city is notorious for having bad sports fans? 6) Who is the most notorious historical figure of all time? Let the games begin! Good luck everyone. EDIT: Fixing formatting on the links.

I'm mainly worried about this question:
2) Who will win the 2003-2004 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award? I have NO IDEA who would win this. I didn't even know they had this award. I don't even know a defensive rookie off the top of my head, so I'll have to be perfect on all the others just to have a chance. |

Ok guys, two days until we're closed. We've got a tight race, and at this point no one has 100%, but that could change...
I've received answers from the following people: albionmoonlight Katon Cringer JeeberD Tucker342 Aesyrqwe Quiksand Swaggs panerd Blade 3ric MIJB#19 Shorty3281 msf518 KWhit Samdari Alf Butter_of_69 MizzouRah cuervo72 Syrinx Wolfpack Hammer755 Digamma 24 people so far...not bad. Thanks for all the compliments on the questions so far, but like I said, I can't claim credit for all of them. The football question, the Jack Nicholson question and the bad fans question are all a product of RonnieDobbs. Keep going guys, polls close Wednesday at 9 PM PST.
