Chalk up one for the good guys (Panerd & Quiksand vs. Bodog.com)

Here is the thread that started it all…

http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/...ad.php?t=56282

I was trying to figure out why the futures bet on the Bears to win the Super Bowl seemed so out of whack. Here is a team that is favored to win the NFC title game but in turn they have the worst odds of anyone to win the Super Bowl? So where else do I turn but FOFC to figure out why. In the process of trying to answer a question posted by St. Cronin I came across an even larger discrepancy…

Possible 2007 Super Bowl XLI Matchup (Which teams will meet in the 2007 Super Bowl XLI).
Chicago Bears vs Indianapolis Colts 13/4

Chicago Bears vs New England Patriots 7/2

New Orleans Saints vs Indianapolis Colts 11/10

New Orleans Saints vs New England Patriots 11/4

In a perfect world, where all of the teams are equal, the odds for each possible matchup would be 3/1. Three of the matchups are not going to hit and one of them will. So if you are the favored team in the NFC then both of your matchup’s odd should be lower than three, right? Well look at the Bears.

I'm playing the role of "the other guy" here, but glad to do so. Saints bets are down.

So... we're assured of breaking even, have a shot to win a little, and a small shot (the the Bears win by only 1 or 2) to win a pretty decent take.

Well, for a little while at least, we were looking at Bears 16, Saints 14 and it was all good.
