Those CFL numbers are higher than I would have thought.

I'd be interested to see them by % of capacity as well.

I'm really impressed by those MLB numbers, considering that every team hosts 81 games per year. It's (relatively) easy to get 30,000 people to a CFL game when the games are only once a week, and the soccer and Aussie Rules leagues don't surprise me either, since those games are only once or twice a week.
Good numbers, though.

Combined with minor league baseball, baseball does quite a job with the number of fans it attracts annually. I forget the number, I'll see if I can find it.

I guess the bottom line is, football in its many variations really does attract folks to the stadium.

But a 4 months season only, the fans are hungry for football. For example the soccer season in Spain lasts over 9 months so not every game is that important as in football where a win/lose makes a huge difference.

Expanding what i said, i would like to find total attendance per sport/year instead of averages, to better meassure the money generated by the fans for that sport.

I think this is very interesting and puts in a little bit of a dent in the NFL is #1 and MLB is a distant second CW.
a total of 76 million and change turn the turnstiles every year for baseball and only 17M for the NFL. Obviously I know that baseball has 10 times more games but that is still very impressive - I doubt you would get 67,000 a game for NFL either if they played every day. |

Wonder what college football, bcs conferences only, would look like. That might top everything.

You have to remember that Germany has about a quarter and England and Spain a seventh or so of the population of the US. And that Austrlia only has a population of about 20m, so a fifteenth the US, but then Aussies are aboslutely crazy for their sports.

Way off from what it used to be. Some of the bigger PPV's can still draw, but most of the WWE house shows (which would drive their average down in a hurry) are seeing crowds under 10,000 pretty much all the time these days. ECW crowds have been in the 1500 to 3000 range, TNA tapes in front of just a few hundred and hadn't broken 10,000 (IIRC) until they went down to South America a few weeks ago.
