Well, good job guys. Mr. W. good call on the book and obviously "me" was not on the list for poker playas.

But damn, I feel cheated on Sunshine. What kind of teachers does BK hang with?

Old ones. Also remember that they were voting who they thought would win, not necessarily their favorites.

So I'm wondering... for the original Helsing folks, we had discussed some ideas about what to do after the merge, are we going ahead with that?

So I need to catch up here a bit, but I do want to say that I'd be happy to use my private thread to pass on things we might want to discuss quietly and that I will also report here things that might not be in the public thread.

hello, Lathum

fwiw, the story put up by me and GE earlier tonight was dead on accurate

and I really haven't understood the survivor aspect of this game at all, none of the challenges have made any sense to me.

1. Because you know I'm not a wolf.

uh ... that's all I can think of. I'm not really any good at these challenges. I don't understand the survivor thing at all. Shoot, I wouldn't even object.

The seer is definitely in the other tribe, so as far as werewolf it doesn't really matter who we vote for.

ardent posted in the main thread that he thought RA was telling the truth about Lathum. This could indicate that he knew who the seer was, and had picked up some comment, or that ardent himself is the seer and had scanned Lathum, or who knows.

Welcome new members to Helsing. Hopefully we can continue the way things have been. While its possible that there are no longer any wolves here, its unlikely. Our old philosophy however was to worry about that bridge when we get there. For the time we primarily had been focusing on working "as a team" to try to do the best we can in the contests.

Hopefully everyone will work together and carry their own weight. I'm still a bit irked at the stuff from Oz, but for now we probably shouldn't keep going after St.Cronin about it. Its more important to try to keep this tribe strong.

If/when we do end up in tribal council will be the time to try to identify the wolves that have infiltrated our tribe

So, with the way Barkeep said anyone with night actions could perform them now, it seems like to me that we might start seeing wolf kills now. I assume they were prevented from killing before.

Today's contest:

Today's activity should take you back to your childhood. We're going to play a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Each team needs to submit to me by 3:30 a list of it's players arranged from A-H (One player on Helsing will go twice). I will then post the match-ups. By 10 PM tonight each player needs to post in their thread whether they are throwing rock, paper, or scissors. The team which wins the most rounds wins immunity. The losing tribe? It's tribal council for them. Should be simple.

Alan -
Cronin -
Lathum-
Mr. W -
Path -
SnDvls -
Swaggs -

Barkeep, do we choose who goes twice, or do you pick randomly once we give our list of names? If we choose, do we list that player twice, and can their two turns be different? ie: one time rock , one time paper?

So guys, how do you want to do it? Everyone pick their own? Some kind of strategy based off of who knows what? I don't know of much rock, paper, scissor strategy and am guessing its going to end up being mostly luck.

We could go in with some strat heavy on one item (like everyone go rock), but that would end up being the easiest strat to be fixed by wolves, simply encouraging the other team to go all paper. Since we don't know the matchups between us and Howard, it seems the type that can be least influenced is if we all just pick our own. Right?

Well unless we all wait til deadline to post our choices, the wolves can likely fix the game either way. I still think the risk/reward of fixing a challenge can't possibly make sense for the wolves, so I'm not going to worry about that.

Well without them knowing who matches up vs who, its not exactly perfect for them to fix. For instance if we go in with equal number of paper, rock and scissors any strat they chose would cause it to be equal chance of them winning, losing or tying.

That's a good point. How would they not know who is going to go first, second, etc. though?

Oh I guess I assumed it would be randomly assigned. I guess it very well may just go in order of the lists.

You know cronin.. if you are going to get along with us, its probably best to not drag up guesses and hunches from day 1. We know alot more now than we did in day 1.

If you don't want to be a part of the team and work with us, then we'll just vote you off the first chance.. I'm willing to give you a second chance after the whole lying to us thing though.

Odd choice for a challenge, as it seems completely random to me. I know that paper/rock/scissors is not a random game, but from what I understand (I actually heard the p/r/s champion talking strategy on NPR one morning ), most of the skill is based on reading your opponent and setting up your plays with prior plays. Neither of which will help us much today.

So, I guess the question will become: Do we want to try to give this a lot of thought to come up with a strategy or just go at it randomly and hope for the best?

My suggestion is everyone put down rock, paper, scissors fo their own entry as close to 10pm as they will be around. Then at like 9:55-9:57 we use random.org to decide what order everyone's names get submitted in.

That way we won't overthink a contest thats purely luck driven, and very little chance of a wolf influencing it (if they even wanted to in the first place).

Then we just decide who wants to go twice.

I don't get this at all. I don't really understand why people vote themselves or have this type of attitude.
