Baseball Podcasts?
As fantasy season draws nearer, and spring training is about to start in earnest, was wondering if any of y'all listened to any of the baseball podcasts and could recommend any of them? I'm looking for either baseball news in general with what's going on around the league or baseball news with a fantasy bent.
A quick search on iTunes suggests that there are a TON of them, but was wondering if anybody had actually listened to them or had any recommendations. Some of the ones on iTunes include: Baseball America Baseball Prospectus Radio Baseball Geeks: MLB News with a Fantasy Baseball spin AP Baseball Free Fantasy Baseball Advice Podcast Just Baseball 360thePitch: Big League Baseball Report The RotoKings Fantasy Baseball Podcast Baseball HQ Radio MSR Baseball Podcast: MLB Roundtable on MySportsRadio.com 360thePitch: Outsider Radio MLB baseball show The Fantasy Baseball Podcast Explicit Fantasy Baseball Pro Baseball Central Baseball Zealot Radio Baseball Musings As you can see, there are a ton listed. I could go through and give them all a listen, but figured I'd first ask if anybody was already listening to one or a few and could advise... /tk

I've listened to the Baseball America one and recommend it if you are interested in prospects. John Manuel and Jim Callis do tend to go off on tangents where they argue about random things but the baseball content is pretty good.

I've listened to BaseballGeeks ... it is pretty good. I'd say a 6 out of 10.
The Baseball Prospectus & Baseball HQ podcasts are not really targeted towards fantasy baseball. They are more slanted towards SABR metric studies. I, personally, enjoy the MLB.com Fantasy 411 podcast. It is their daily show on MLB.com radio tha tthey put up as a podcast. Check it out here

Thanks a lot, Green Caeser! I'm giving the MLB.com 411 one a go.

I'd disagree with that, for what it's worth. The BBHQ podcast seems to be very much about player valuation, and is very much in the terms used for fantasy baseball. Yes, it has an analytical bent, but it is most definitely assembled with a fantasy baseball mentality in mind. |

Not really self-serving, I have never participated in any of the podcats or their development. I just find it frustrating sometimes that BBHQ (the site or the podcast, same problem) gets thrown into the discard bin by many who see discussion of subjects like K/BB ratios, "bat speed" measures or the like, and think "well, they aren't talking about whether I ought to take him in the first round of my draft, so this can't be about fantasy bnaseball."
