Bruce Almighty II actually looks decent.

I thought this was just another Jim Carey sequal ripoff without Jim Carey, but it looks pretty funny. Steve Carell picks up his same role from Bruce Almighty for Evan Almighty.

Meh. Looks formulaic, even though Carell is awesome.

Confused protagonist. Wacky high jinks because of previously mentioned confusion. Lessons learned at the end.

If the high jinks are interesting and funny enough, and the lessons aren't shoved up my ass, I might check out the DVD someday.

So if they are properly lubed and you are ready and relaxed to receive the lessons, then the DVD is a must view?

I don't need lube - I just need to shave first.

I seriously doubt this "film" will amount to anything substantial.

This film will now hit $250 million the first weekend.

I saw the first one and it was decent. I actually thought the trailer was very uninspiring and it does nothing to motivate me to go see it.

Ditto, though I really liked the first one.

I saw the original in the theatre and thought it was just okay. Funny enough to enjoy, but not something I needed to own or would watch again if I flipped across it on cable.

According to wiki, it is actually one of the highest grossing comedies of all-time, with over $240M domestically and more than $550 worldwide. It is actually (as of right now) the 50th best grossing movie in history.

Pretty hard to believe, as it isn't even on my radar for best comedies ever. But, I guess with that kind of box office for the original, a sequel isn't too surprising.

Especially considering Steve Carrell is getting a lot of mention these days. I'm sure it will do well in the theatre, but nothing close to the first one.

The first one was terrible because of Jim Carey and a horrible screenplay that sucked all the fun out of the premise.

This one, having Steve Carrell and what looks to be a somewhat more passable script, should be much improved.

How come the opening of the trailer it only says "Moses, Abraham, Joan of Arc, Bruce." Where the heck is John Denver?
