Damn I wish jb was here.

Didn't he claim during the early part of the season that the Lakers would win 50 games this season? I gotta look that up.

They had Kobe out for about 10, and lost Odom and Walton for a big part of the season, and still won atleast 40 games (with 2 to go). It wasn't that ridiculous of a prediction. I could see if they were a lottery team.

Jeez, the poor guy isn't here, and people are still ridiculing him for statements he made months ago (that, as has been pointed out by Deattribution, aren't all that inaccurate).

Give it a rest already.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of one of bottom 5 teams, which they aren't. Right now they're a 7th seed. Even if they miss the playoffs, it's not because they were so awful.

The prediction was 50 wins, and they won 40. Not exactly the most ridiculous prediction of all time.

Yeah he is only 10 games short. So yeah if being off by 20% is considered accurate then that's cool. Also, I will give it a rest if I feel like giving it a rest. You don't have to read it.

Well he made the prediction at the beginning of the season and i'm mentioning it at the end of the season to see how close he was. Not my fault the season started so long ago.

Yeah, cause I create threads blasting a kid not even here for being off by 10 games in a prediction. Nice try, though.

Oilers9991 is just trying to be like a good number of other knuckleheads on this board that incessently make fun of jbmagic for really no reason.

What does that have to do with the unfair punishment to Pac-Man Jones?

You must be high if you think what I posted about Jones is even remotely close to trolling. Hell, it wasn't even flaming, it was a rational discussion. Further, its one in which someone had a good point, and I admitted I was wrong in my defense of Jones.

What that has to do with someone making fun of another user is beyond me.

I think you do really need to smoke something...to relax. It seems like in every thread you are a very, very, angry person. That comment was just to tease you (as is the one before it), and you take it as a personal attack.

Shouldn't you be complaining and going Hulk about spoilers of episodes that have already aired in the Soprano's last season discussion thread?

Some of the same people defending him herer were ripping him (making fun of) in the Raiders thread all season, which led to it being many months after the prediction.

Anyway, I have to at least go along with the crowd that says it's not exactly a huge miss. It's not like his Raiders making the playoffs prediction, now that was downright funny.

The combination of the Lakers actually making the playoffs, this being about basketball, and jb not here to add fuel to the fire conspired to limit the potential for this thread. But don't worry folks, we'll still have the Raiders to laugh at, jb predictions or not.

I didn't realize he finally got boxed. I know there was a point where his posts were "moderated" at the time he posted them, but I either missed or forgot about his boxing.

The specific post he was boxed for was in a FTB, at a FTB participant, with no attack at jb to trigger it, from a person that to my knowledge never lodged any attack at him before (and i think even defended him on numerous occasions).

Oh yeah, now I remember it. That was very bizarre (even for jb), unprovoked, and out of the blue.

Blasting? You call this blasting? I mentioned his prediction and that he was wrong. I didn't call him names, I didn't do anything of the sort. I just mentioned it. When people mentioned this, it was always in reference to winning titles, not just making the playoffs. A lot of teams can make the playoffs.
