Adult Baseball team needs pitching
I play in an adult baseball league in Allegheny County, PA. We have 15 teams in the league and all games are played on Sunday. We play about 30 games a year.
My team needs pitching. If you live in the Pittsburgh area and will be 30 years old or older before Dec. 31, 2007 and you can pitch, please let me know. If you have any questions, please ask. You don't need to show up at every game. We are all adults with families, so real life prevents most of us from being there for every game. |

I thought this thread was going to be about the Yankees.

Don't feel bad. I was talking to my wife about Carlos Guillen being kind of old for the contract he got last month........then I realized that I'm a few months older than him. Last edited by Schmidty : 04-24-2007 at 06:39 PM. |

I play in an Atlanta baseball league. If you give me a signing bonus, I will go back up north...

I'd like to find something like this in my area. Problem is, I haven't played competitive sports in years (some would characterize it as "decades"), so I'd like to find more of a "fun" league than one consisting of ex-college and low pro ball guys who are still pissed they never got their shot and want to treat the league like their personal MLB. Finding that balance has got to be difficult, I imagine.
My first step is playing in a law firm softball league this summer. Now that I'm in shape, I need to get out and do something fun and competitive.

That is one of the problems of the league. My team is made up of guys that love baseball. We played as kids. Some played a little in college. Other teams in our league are exactly as you described. This weekend we play the team that won our championship the last 4 or 5 years. They will easily 10 run rule us.. |

I heard about one in our area that plays several games a week and travels out of state sometimes. That seems pretty hardcore. I guess softball is the best I'm going to be able to do.
