Contest: Most posts who hasn't posted in threadkiller thread
Alright, who has the most posts without ever posting in the threadkiller thread? There's a lot of post whores out there.
I don't think I've ever posted in it, so who else has some dignity? |

I have cheated and whored a few posts from the threadkiller thread, I'll admit it.

I have never posed in there, nor felt the compunction to do so.

Is this one a carry-over from the old, broken one, or a new one? If it's new, I have no posts in it. I don't even think I've read one post in it.
I did post a few times in the old one, though. In fact, it was my post that "broke" it. Maybe I need to work my magic in the new one...

That's debatable. I think Kodos was the last one in, before tricky means were necessary for posting. I still think my multiple posts of Tiny Tim where what sent it over the edge... I haven't posted in the new one. The thread should have died with the old board. |

Well, damn. And here I thought my 1 threadkiller post to 1000+ was gonna be a contender.

I just recall my post being the last one you could view in sequence before the whole thing fell of the cliff. That said, Tiny Tim could send many things over the edge, so that's the likely answer.

I think I posted in it once saying it should be locked. The threadkiller thread is a million times better than other cheese posting tactics like wigfectas and milestone announcements though IMO. Those two are my biggest forum pet peeves.

I'm not sure I understand how people "don't know" if they've posted in it.
-signed, little black dot (PS) I have not even looked at the thread, let alone post in it.

I have never posted in it, let alone opened that thread. I say LOCK it, or better, delete it.

It is the biggest dola posting thread in the history of FOFC!!
You want to get your post count up? Then go and lose yourself in the thread... hehe!

I used to post in it fairly often on the old board. Now, it's a little out-of-hand even for me, so I don't pay attention to it anymore. I don't think it should be locked or deleted. They're not trolling, so just ignore it if you don't like it.

I posted like twice in the original, before it became such a marathon. I didn't realize how silly the repetitive posting had gotten in there until I looked the other day. It should have been shut down a long time ago.

According to the dot, I have. But not more than once or twice. The first one was funny when it was an attempt to get the ultimate thread kill. There weren't any dolas because the idea was to post in it then quietly let it slide down the page and out of sight. I don't think anybody has that intention in the new one. With that evident, I don't have any plans of competing for that thread kill as the post count whores won't let it slide down the page.
I almost feel ashamed now. That little black dot next to it is like the Scarlet "A." |

I also have one post in the threadkiller thread. I don't think it should be shut down unless the sheer size of the thread is causing perfomance impacts on the board. If guys feel better about themselves by adding to their post count in that thread then more power to them.

Sorry to turn this into a rant thread, but I just remember my forum pet peeve #3:
When there is a huge thread discussing some topic that is still current/active and someone decides they have something to add to the discussion so important or groundbreaking that they start a new thread just to post their thoughts. Post in the original thread like everyone else!! If your posts are clear, well-thought out and well-written people will seak them out and read them anyway... no need to start your own thread just to bring attention to your post. |

I haven't posted in it in nearly a week, if that's any consolation...

I haven't. I think I might have had one post in the old one before it got ridiculous.

At most 10 posts in the old threadkiller thread, none in the new one.
Plus, those in the old one all were attempts to stop the thread (to kill it), not to keep it alive... (hmmm, that doesn't sound okay at all...) |

The thread killer thread is the epitomy of self riteous oblivion.

I agree but the sooner that happens the better. I also agree with Daimyo on the milestone announcements, like it means something to reach a certain number of posts on an internet message board. I guess their Mommys and Daddys didn't give them enough attention. |
