Google Maps: Now with phone calls!

"Here's how it works: Search for a business, like a hardware store, on Google Maps, and click the 'call' link next to its phone number. Then, enter your phone number and click 'Connect For free.' Google calls your phone number and automatically connects you to the hardware store.

There are two things that I really like about this. The business's phone number is automatically stored in your caller ID so you can easily call back in the future. And by checking the box to remember your phone number, you can make future calls from Google Maps with just two mouse clicks (and picking up your phone, of course).

We're providing the 'call' link as a free service to all businesses. These aren't ads and don't influence the ranking of businesses in the search results. We foot the bill for calls (local and long distance), but airtime fees or other mobile fees will still apply if you use a mobile phone number. Currently, the calling feature works if you live in the U.S. and are looking for a business located in the U.S."

So how long will it take google to implement this...

You type in your work address and you type in your home address and it sends a clone to work for you, and sends two hot females to your home in return.

Bump...and in other news of "fantastic Google Maps features," they have finally implemented the greatest thing I could ever ask for (outside of not having to work and being sent two hot chicks):

You can now get directions between your two points, and then, if you don't like the route they've given you, you can drag the route along to the road(s) you prefer and it will update the directions with the route you should take from that new point until your ultimate destination. Don't like the next road they put you on? Update it again.

As someone who is a semi-frequent traveler for work, this is huge. Many times I'll have to go somewhere and not want to deal with the traffic of certain highways, so I'll have alternate ones in mind, but I don't know how to navigate between the major highways I'm trying to hit. Now I can see exactly how to get between two roads without having to look over each individual connecting road, figuring out exit numbers, etc.

Google, you've made life easier once again.
