I would actually think about contacting Via Tech... they are typically pretty good with their customer service.... this error is an eLicense error and they should be able to help.
You can reach Via Tech at: [email protected] According to Via Tech's FAQ: http://www.elicense.com/how/faq.asp Error message 23 "could not get a license at this time" means: 23 "Sorry, could not get a license at this time..."This error indicates a problem with the eLicense software on your computer. "...get a license" does not refer to license acquisition from the eLicense servers, it refers to the eLicensed application being unable to retrieve license data on your computer. With older versions of eLicense, this error may occur on Windows XP when using the Fast Switch feature, and the logged-on user is not the owner of the program. This error will also occur when trying to run eLicensed software via Terminal Server or Remote Desktop. There is a regular error 23 that only occurs during purchase. Hope this helps... if needed there is a Via Tech diagnostic program posted in this thread that will at the very least give them more information when you contact them: http://www.400softwarestudios.com/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27096 |

I'm sure that you tried this when you reinstalled, but did you reboot your computer? Sometimes I would get that message with FOF2, and it always went away when I rebooted.
