EHM or OOTP?

I'm looking to get a "new" text sim and was wondering which one to go with. I don't actually care for either sport IRL, so that doesn't matter to me. Thanks.

Honestly Vex, if you don't like baseball, you probably won't like OOTP. It is very big, and can seem overwhelming if you can't get into it. Which is exacly the way that I feel about hockey, and so Eastside never fit with me, even though it is so similar to FM, which I love.

I love baseball, and think that OOTP is the best for me, but since you aren't a diehard, I would send you to Puresim instead.

I really didn't care for PureSim a couple of versions back. I really like the huge universe aspect of these games, which is like FM as far as that goes. I also like being able to start out in Rookie ball, that's an important thing for me.

I definitely understand what you mean about not liking the sport though. I really like and understand FM nowadays, but I won't say that it happened over night. Appreciate it.

I'm more of a baseball guy than a hockey guy, but EHM has provided me with a much more enjoyable experience. It isn't perfect and it's no where near as immersive as FM, but it has that "one more day" feel that I really lack in OOTP.

I have both games and really enjoy both of them but I play ootp more than ehm. However if you want to start in lower leagues I would go with EHM. I think like FM the lower level game in ehm is better developed and more enjoyable than OOTP.

I like both of these sports and own both games, but didn't get a lot of enjoyment from either. They both felt more like work than a game.

In EHM, coaching one of the CHL (OHL, QMJHL and WHL) teams is very fun. It's like a mix of a college game (you only get the players for 4 or 5 years) with that of a pro game (players aquired by draft, trade, FA, etc). Some of the most fun I've had playing a text sim.

CHL = Canadian Juniors

I 100% agree with this as well, its like playing a hybrid college/pro game. My longest career on EHM05 was with the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Like Sabotai and Turner stated, its an interesting hybrid of pro and college type hockey, and its really a blast to compete not only in your league but also to potentially play for the Memorial Cup(the 3 league champs and the host).
