Arrow The Tournament of Rock: Play-in round (Vote for 5)

47 bands have made the field. 17 of the remaining 72 will make it in. Please vote for ONLY FIVE out of the list. Out of laziness, I have left "The" off of all band names that employ it.

As a general guideline, I'd prefer that you vote BEFORE looking at results.

Whew. Had to read the first post for this to make sense. AC/DC doesn't make it? G'n'R doesn't make it? Pat Benetar? Stevie Wonder?

Ah, but 47 bands have already made it. Makes sense now.

Your nomination was the only one. Every group in this list got a single nomination. The field of 47 that made it in already each has at least 2 nominations.

I was sad that certain groups like Scorpion and Motley Crue didn't get nominated, but dems da breaks.

I like Soundgarden, but that's a pretty impressive list of bands there and we were limited to just 5 votes. If we had 7 or 8, they would have made the cut for me in this vote.

What 47 already made it in?

I'm assuming after seeing all these bands, U2 is on that 47 band list?

With the number of Red Sox fans on the forums I'm guessing alot of them also have become dropkick murphy fans too. Personally I only know two of their songs myself though (the one from the Departed and this new one State of Massachusetts). I like the one from departed, but not the other one.

Shew. I'm glad I nominated CCR -- they are clearly winning the play-in and apparently were *that close* to not making it.

Well, CCR isn't "winning", but they are definitely in the top 3.

Damn... why the hell would you leave out Megadeth!

Anthrax is there, Metallica is there, Pantera is there, Slayer is there... I just see no reason for leaving them out.

Let me point you to the nomination thread. If a group isn't there that you think should be, well... you only have yourself to blame for not nominating them.

FWIW, I was disappointed that Boston didn't get nominated either.

No love for Seether and only a little love for Staind. I'm ok with that though, given the great bands already nominated neither one had any chance of winning.

Us over 40 crew forget that some of don't know SRV is Stevie Ray Vaughan, so you've got him twice.

Has anyone seen my bifocals?

Ooo. Good catch. Based on that, Stevie Ray Vaughan is in, and now there are 16 slots left to be filled. Sorry for the oversight.

SRV is already in, so all the revelation does means that there is one less nominee for the last 17 slots.

So does this include rap or not? Because if it does and Public Enemy doesn't get in, I'm going to punch my cat.

If you all feel a little twinge of guilt later and don't know why, that's it.

The B-boys started out as a pretty authentic, nasty punk rock band. Really good stuff.
