WMMA Village Challenge- UFF's Launch (July 1996-January 1997)

Well, this is it, FOFC has launched their MMA federation, the UFF (Ultimate Fighting Federation).

We have $100,000 in the bank, and will need to build from very little, to try to make it to the top.

We have no fighters under contract, and I have six months (through January 1st) to try to build the company up before turning it over to Icy... It's gonna be hard, but hopefully, we can set a good base early.

Well, the good news is we have a clean slate. My first mission is to try to get some good, exciting fighters in.. we can probably pad the rest of our lower card out with cheap fighters, but still.. we're going to be running the standard weight classes, at least to start:

Lightweight 146-155
Welterweight 156-170
Middleweight 171-185
Light Heavyweight 186-205
Heavyweight 206-265

I'd like to have 8 fighters under contract in each of the weight classes by the time I turn this over, but that's 40 fighters.


I've picked four fighters from the Heavyweight class to anchor that class.. In future posts I will mention some of the other classes people I'm trying to sign.

Heavyweight

"The Beast of Birmingham" Rav Kapur: This guy is built like a brick wall, and apparently hits like one with both his feet and his knees. He's 5-0, fighting in the UK's British Cage Fighting, but since he's not on an exclusive contract, I want some of that as well. He'll probably want at least $2500/$2500 a fight, that's what his contract with BCF states, but seriously, he's a good, exciting fighter and I want him mainlining our first card.

Stratos Papaioannou: He's a bit beyond his prime at age 33, but he's fully available, and vastly experienced in MMA, with an impressive record of 20-4. He's your typical ground and pounder. He'll be a bit light for our heavyweight Division at 217 pounds, however.

Mugur Boc: "The Crusher" is new to the MMA game, only fighting twice (both wins), but damn, if he isn't imposing (6'5", 242), and from the scouting report, you do not want to get close to this guy. His knee strikes, and his ground strikes are just awesome.

"Smash Mouth" Derek South: Again, a very young fighter (22), and not quite battle tested (one fight (he won)), but I love his scouting report, a strong chin, dangerous ground and pound, and can knock people out in a clinch. Combined with his killer instinct, he could be a future legend, and I want his legend to start in UFF.

Alexi "Fists of Death" Chekhov: Unemployed, but with a good record, 8-2, and a good stand up fighter, with powerful punches, and he has great cardio. Probably will be given a chance to win the LHW title right off the bat, probably against..

Petey "The Mack Attack" Mack: 6-1 as a pro, good instincts, and an all around fighter (both stand up and ground game)

Two other fighters we want to pick up who would only be working for us right now, with decent records are Leandro Piquet, (6-3 from Brazil) and Percy Catcher (6-2, From england)

All our possible fights so far top out at average, which I'd like to get at least one to at least above average. Right now, We'd make about $60,000 on the gate, so we probably only want to book 5-6 matches tops (We can have a mininum of 3, maximum of 12)

UFF 1: Blastoff isn't the only card scheduled, GAMMA, the USA big dog, announces their main event, James Foster versus Lefter Oktay. Foster's trying to get back into the title picture after losing the belt to Raul Hughes (Foster is the big dog in GAMMA, he actually gets paid $250,000 just to fight, and that much more if he wins!!!) Thankfully, it's two weeks after ours.. so their PPV won't overshadow our little card.

In a bit of interesting news, just days before his fight, Aleksei Chekhov joins the Mantas Andreyev fighting camp, home of the best fighter in the world (ALPHA-1's Hassan Fezzik). So his ground game, which was his weak point, is going to get a LOT better. (they are rated very good at physical, World Renowned at the mental side as well as world renowned for Ground game, Good at wrestling, and Very Good at submissions)

Chekhov will be a LOT more dangerous as a fighter in a few months, when the training starts to sink in...

Fight 1:Luke Hilton (4-1) vs Joseph Storm (0-0)

(I wish I could copy and paste, but I can't figure out how, so I'll do a reduced PBP)

Round 1: Hilton presses early, throwing four punches that lands on the gloves. Storm attempts to circle and throws a combo, but Hilton counterpunches well. Hilton throws a high kick and it lands on Storm's shoulder. Storm gets out of position, and is lucky that Hilton didn't take advantage of it. They clinch, and Storm lands a knee to the hip from the clinch. Hilton fires back with a couple short punches to the ribs:

Round 2: Storm fakes a shoot at a takedown, but Hilton isn't buying it. Hilton catches Storm again with a counterpunch and appears to have rocked him, but Storm covers up well.. Hilton comes in with a kick, and Storm is happy to bring it to a clinch, but nothing much happens, and the ref seperates them. Hilton lets Storm attempt to take the round away, dodging and weaving,m and landing counter after counter. There's no doubt who won this round.

Blurcat Scores It: 10-9 Hilton.

Round 3: The two fighters touch gloves, and Storm looks like he wants to push the pace, he knows he's losing on the scorecards.. but in his aggresiveness, his hands are low, and Hilton knows that he can take advantage.. he lands a huge right hand that hits! Storm tries to back away, but Hilton follows it up with a 2nd right hand that knocks Storm back against the cage, and it's all Hilton, raining down punches, and all Storm can do is try to defend, and the ref steps in!

The winner, by TKO (Ref Stoppage) at 0:26 of the Third and Final Round: Luke "The Hillbilly Hammer", Hilton!

Fight 2: Darin Blood (2-0) vs Korekiyo Anzai (6-1)

Round 1: Anzai's more aggressive to start, firing a couple of jabs that don't land solidly. He then tries a high kick but leaves himself open, and Blood takes him down. He nearly ends up in a triangle choke, and tries to flip out of it, but Anzai feels it coming and nearly gets a mount position, but Blood falls back and pulls guard.

Anzai throws down some jabs, trying to move up to the full mount position, and goes for a neck vise, but Blood brings up his arms to stop that. Anzai does manage to move up to halfguard, with only one of his legs trapped. Anzai goes for the arm bar, and Blood desperately rolls with it, and he manages to hold off Anzai long enough for the bell. Good submission attempts by Anzai though.

Blurcat Scores It: 10-9, Anzai

Round 2: Anzai hits a jab to start, and he sees that Blood wants to go for the takedown right away, and he stuffs it! He spins around, and has the rear mount, where he takes time to fire shots into Blood's head, as Blood tries to turtle up. He finally manages to roll forward, and gets on his back, with Anzai again trying to submit him. Good defense by Blood prevents the armbar from being extended, and he again frustrates Anzai, but he's not doing much offensively as the round ends.

Blurcat Scores It: 10-9 Anzai.

Round 3: Anzai pushes the pace early, and gets in the clinch and manages to take down Blood with a leg trip. It's a stalemate for most of the round, Blood tries a guillotine choke from the bottom, but Anzai blocks it, and a bit later, the referee brings them both to their feet, and before any more action can occur, that's the final bell.

Fight 3: Bixentine Fontaine (9-3) vs Dennis Gallagher (3-1)

Round 1 is Fontaine's to start, pressing the attack in the first fifteen seconds, making Gallagher defend against three punches and a leg kick.. and then hitting a nice body kick. Gallagher pushes Fontaine against the fence, and they swap body shots. It gets scrappy, as neither man can do much in the clinch, and they eventually get seperated. Fontaine ducks under a superman punch right before the bell, and hits a crisp left hand to the body.

Blurcat Scores It: 10-9, Fontaine.

Round 2: Not much happening here, as both fighters seem a bit winded, and there's a lot of circling and jabbing early, Fontaine is slightly more aggresive, and he initiates a clinch, but nothing much happens in it. Ref seperates them, but there's the bell.

Blurcat Scores it: 10-9 Fontaine on aggressiveness.

Round 3: Fontaine hits a nice low kick to start the round. Gallagher apparently was told in between rounds that he's likely losing the fight and he needed to step things up, as he's initiating the contact on this round. He rushes in with a solid right hand out of nowhere, and Fontaine is stunned! It's Gallagher, throwing a lot of punches, and Fontaine just trying to avoid being knocked down. Gallagher hits a huge uppercut that really stuns Fontaine, and the ref's seen enough! He steps in, and likely down two rounds to none, Dennis Gallagher comes back and pulls it off!

The winner by TKO (Ref Stoppage) at 2:37 of the final round, Dennis Gallagher.

Fight 4: Aleksei Chekov (8-2) vs Percy Catcher (6-2) for the UFF Light Heavyweight Championship

Round 1: The fighters circle, knowing that they have three rounds to work in, and Catcher hits a nice counterpunch to a looping left hand from Chekov. He follows up with a combo, and Chekov covers up well. Both fighters fight from the outside, Catcher trying some looping punches and low kicks, and Chekov trying to keep Catcher off him with jabs. The round ends with Catcher blocking a series of Chekov punches, and hitting a nice body blow at the end of the round.

Blurcat scores it: 10-9 Catcher

Round 2: More tenativeness to start, an Catcher is the first to go for a big punch, an uppercut that misses. Chekov lands a couple body shots, but misses a big hoook that the body punches were setting up. They come together for a couple more exchanges, but not much is getting through, and this one sees the last bit end in a clinch.

Round 3: Chekov comes out more energetic in this round, and he forces Catcher back against the cage. After a Chekov hook finds the body, Catcher clinches up, and they nearly tumble to the ground, but Catcher uses better positioning to hit a couple Muay Thai knees to Chekov's body. . Finally the ref seperates them.. and Chekov goes for a roundhouse kick with bad intentions that Catcher barely moved away from.. Chekov then sets him up with a leg kick and a leg kick feint that has Catcher moving to the side, looking to attack from the angle, but the feint is only a setup for ANOTHER HUGE HIGH KICK that lands flush, right on the ear, and Catcher crumples to the ground. The referee jumps in, before Chekov can do any more damage, but with one big kick, this fight is OVER!

The Winner, by KNOCKOUT, at 3:27 of the Third Round, and NEW UFF Light Heavyweight Champion of the World, Aleksi Chekov!

Rav Kapur (5-0) vs Derek South (1-0) for the UFF Heavyweight Championship

Round 1: Slow round, with Kapur getting the better of the first couple exchanges, although, South did get a couple shots in. South's timing is a bit off, and he's coming out 2nd best on the exchanges. South goes in for a takedown, but he can't finish it, and Kapur spins away. South gets a clinch as the round ends.

Blurcat scores it: 10-9, Kapur.

Round 2: South tries a big shot, and Kapur dodges it fairly easily, and hits several good punches in return. Again, Kapur has the better part of the standup exchange, and South goes for the clinch, but Kapur defends well in the clinch, and the ref eventually breaks the clinch. Kapur has been working the counterpunch all round, and he defends against a final attack from South right before the bell

Blurcat Scores it:10-9, Kapur.

Round 3:South shows a lot of frustration this round.. he wants to stand and unload haymakers, but Kapur is just annoying him with his movement and constant jab. South looks very slow and lumbering in comparison. South goes for a clinch, and hits a nice body punch, but Kapur is able to break free, and South's right hook to the body doesn't land. As the round ends, South tries for an all or nothing shot, but Kapur dodges it well, and that will do it for the fight.

Main Event:Will Kane (7-0) vs Truck Gleeson (5-0) for the UFF Welterweight Championship

Round 1: Kane and Gleeson both throw a couple tenative jabs to start. Kane hits a nice set of body shots, and Gleeson has to side step to avoid a follow up hook. Not much action happening here, and the exchanges don't have many clean blows land. They clinch, and both sides his a couple of weak body shots, but the ref steps in, and seperates them, but before any more "action" can take place, the round ends.

Blurcat Scores It: 10-9, Kane.

Round 2: Again, a lot of outside work in this fight , disappointing the crowd, who wants to see more action, Kane brings them up with a nice series of punches, and fires about 12 in a row, but most were deflected off the arms or gloves of Gleeson. Gleeson hits a couple body shots as Kane recovers from that flurry.

Gleeson accidentally hits Kane with a lowblow kick, and the ref stops the fight for a second, giving Gleeson a warning to avoid the groin, and gives Kane a bit of time to recover. Kane isn't fully recovered, and he'll take the clinch gladly, and the round comes to an end. Kane's flurry seems to have been the difference.

Blurcat Scores it: 10-9, Kane.

Round 3: Slow start to the round, a full minute in and no punches have been thrown with bad intention. Gleeson throws the first couple of punches, but Kane moves well. Gleeson hits a nice low kick, but is off balance, and Kane lunges forward with a big right hand to the body, and a left hook. Gleeson backpedals, but another punch sends Gleeson down! Kane tries to dive on Gleeson to get some ground and pound in, but Gleeson recovers well, and scrambles back to his feet.. Gleeson doesn't have much answer though, for Kane's power, and Gleeson clinches to try to clear his head, but this late in the round, nothing more can happen.

Ouch. We made money on the fight, but all the OTHER expenses, Production, Marketing etcetera.. meant that in July we took a loss of almost $65,000!

So we're down to $45,000. I'm gonna have to put on at least two cards, and put some real cheap fighters on there. Yikes!

Seeing as how we're in.. um.. Financial Difficulty, we're gonna book our 2nd card rather quickly, and well.. I'm going to be looking for a lot of rookie fighters.. I don't care about skills and exciting fights, except at the top of the card.. I want folks who can work cheap!

One big fight, and a bunch of rookies, will probably be the way it goes!

Hilton wants $2500/$2500/$275.. I hate that. He's not accepting any bookings from me till we work things out.. and I need him to boost interest in upcoming cards. I eventually agree.

Gallagher wants $3000/$3000 per fight. Considering his win was a fluke.. I'm not convinced he's worth it. Let's see if he backs off his demands.

Wow. GAMMA's Golden Boy loses again. On the bright side, that's a quarter-million less that they have to pay him, but gee golly whillikers, if I was GAMMA, I'd really want my most well known fighter to win.

The big news overseas is that ALPHA-1 has a new Heavyweight Champion, as Jeff Carlton defeated Hassan Fezzik by Split Decision in a classic (****) fight after five rounds of combat. Wow. Fezzik and Foster lose on consecutive days.

Fight 1: Kyle Winterburn (0-1) vs Roy Lynch (1-1)

Round 1
They circle to start, both throwing a few tentative jabs. An uppercut misses its mark from Winterburn, providing the first moment of real action. Lynch hits a nice combination of body shots to set up a big right hook, but Winterburn side-stepped to safety. A few punches get thrown, but there's a lack of real action to talk about. Lynch is being slightly the more aggressive, but neither fighter is really going for it. They come together again and exchange punches, but no big shots get through, and they end up clinched for a while. The referee separates them, but the time is ticking away and this round looks like it's going to the judges. End of the round. Blurcat.com gives that one to Lynch by 10-9.

Round 2
The round begins, and it is Lynch who starts better, energetically bounding straight into action by throwing a three-punch combination and a scything leg kick. Winterburn defended all four blows well, but is forced to be on the backfoot right from the word go. Lynch works for an angle, coming in from the left hand side with a high right hand. Winterburn ducks under it and nestles a stiff jab in the solar plexus. It doesn't seem to slow Lynch down much though, as he swiftly turns and hits a crisp left to the side of the head, followed almost instantly by a mid-level kick that smacks above the hip of Winterburn. Interesting first minute of action, Lynch is looking particularly sharp. Winterburn tries to turn the momentum by advancing quickly and driving Lynch back against the cage with a series of jabs and hooks, and they end up clinched. Winterburn tries a knee from that position, but it is blocked. Lynch scores with two sharp blows to the ribs, and then they break away from each other. They both seem to be looking for an opening, and it's creating a stalemate at the moment. They square up to each other in the center. Lynch throws a head fake and comes in from low down to hit a rising shot that catches Winterburn on the side of the head. Winterburn got a shot in too though, although it hit the shoulder rather than the head. Time is running down; Lynch has probably done enough to win the round, but it has turned quite scrappy since the clinch against the cage, both will probably be slightly unhappy with that. Winterburn tries a late surge, coming in hard and fast with a leading left, but Lynch defends it well and scores the only meaningful shot of the exchange with a crisp left hand. The 2nd round ends. Round 3
Lynch works an angle and comes in from the side of Winterburn, getting two good jabs in before a ragged left misses by quite a margin. Winterburn hits a low kick to back Lynch against the cage, then works the body with a series of short punches. Lynch fights out and the action returns to the center. Winterburn clinches with Lynch, who manages to get a body shot in. Lynch attemps to push away from the cage, but Winterburn uses a slick trip to dump him down to the mat. He grabs hold of one leg during the trip, and applies a leglock. That was all in one motion, Lynch got taken by surprise. Winterburn sits back and wrenches in the hold, and that looks painful. Lynch is holding on. He tries to twist free, but it's on tight. Lynch gives in and taps out. Winterburn wins via 3rd round leglock submission with the official time being 2:24.

Fight 2: Nicolas Ramirez (0-0) vs Garon Moreau (0-0)

Round 1
Flat start to the round, thirty seconds of circling without any actual contact. The fans begin to get a bit restless. Moreau is the first to try something, stringing together a couple of jabs and a low kick, but Ramirez blocked the first two and avoided the latter. A lunge from Moreau is meant to set up a punch, but it's clumsy and just leaves him off balance. Ramirez is quick to react, and gets a great shot to the side of the face in before Moreau can cover up. That landed above the left eye and has left an ugly red mark. No cut, but that will start to swell and could give Moreau some problems later on. Moreau moves in for a right hook, but takes a hard kick to the knee, then is forced to retreat so as not to get caught with the two right hands that follow. Ramirez is staying on it though, and glances three shots off the gloves of Moreau before they wind up in a clinch. That punch above the eye, or maybe the mistake that led to it, seems to have completely thrown Moreau off, since that moment he has been comprehensively out-struck and is now in danger of losing this round. They struggle in the clinch, neither fighter managing a great deal more than minor blows. Moreau goes for a trip, but Ramirez cleverly spins out of it and the two fighters are back to circling. Not a great round for purists, it has all been a bit disjointed, but that one shot from Ramirez may prove decisive. As the round comes to an end, they wind up back in another clinch, with nothing coming of it. That's the end of the round. Blurcat.com scores 10-9 Ramirez.

Round 2
Ramirez hits some tentative punches, then comes in fast and forces Moreau to back up against the cage, where they clinch. Ramirez hits a nice body shot, but takes two short punches to the side of the head in return. Moreau tries a trip, but it doesn't go anywhere. They separate, with Ramirez having to stay sharp to avoid a scorching right hand from Moreau. Moreau and Ramirez clash in an exchange of punches. Ramirez scores with a nice body shot, but a right hand tags him just above the eye, and he is dropped to a sitting position, temporarily stunned. Moreau dives in from the side, blasting him with a further punch that puts Ramirez on his back. Moreau gets side control, and Ramirez has to cover up immediately to deflect two scathing right hands. Moreau is looking to get a crucifix, which Ramirez is fighting while simultaneously trying to roll his hips to either pull guard to get back up. Neither happens, as Moreau lets him roll, but cleverly stays with him, taking his back as a result. Ramirez turtles up, but not before taking a brutal punch just below the left ear. The crowd certainly reacted to that shot. Moreau, clearly sensing it's time to kill this match off, starts throwing bombs from either side, smashing into the side of Ramirez's face. Ramirez tries to cover up, but it's futile; the referee pulls Moreau off to save Ramirez from any further punishment. Moreau wins via 2nd round TKO with the official time being 4:43.

Francis O'Leary (1-2) vs Nicholas Bretton (2-0)

Round 1
They circle to begin the round. O'Leary throws two short jabs, then a long-range looping right hand. Bretton had to be on his toes to get out of the way, and does. O'Leary goes to follow up, and narrowly avoids walking right into a right cross. He bobs underneath it, then comes in fast with a right hand. Bretton parries it with his gloves, then shoots in and scores with a nice takedown. O'Leary tries to sprawl, but was too late and can only pull guard as he crash-lands to the ground. Bretton passes guard and gets into side control, but it's an awkward position; O'Leary has the entire right hand side of his body up against the cage, and both his legs wrapped around Bretton's left arm. Bretton's attacking options are fairly limited. He uses a couple of back fists to strike away at the face, but O'Leary covers up to defend them. Bretton tries to pin down one of O'Leary's arms and bring his legs around to trap them fully, but O'Leary uses his free arm to stop that from happening. The ground battle enters a stalemate, as Bretton finds himself unable to do any real damage other than occasional strikes, which he doesn't have the leverage to get much power behind, with virtually no chance of gaining a submission thanks to his left arm being trapped. The referee eventually stands them up, and the time expires before anything interesting can happen with them standing. The round is over. Blurcat.com gives that one to Bretton by 10-9.

Round 2
Bretton starts the round by throwing some low kicks. O'Leary checks them, then comes in and clearly wants to trade punches. Bretton doesn't seem too bothered by that, and they enter into the first exchange of punches of the round. Difficult to say who came out on top, neither of them did a great deal of damage, most of the shots hit the opponent's gloves. Bretton cleverly head-fakes, allowing him the time and angle that he needed to catch O'Leary with a beauty of a right hook. O'Leary stumbles backward, but doesn't go down. Bretton presses the advantage by following in with a kick, then a right hand. O'Leary clinches. They remain clinches for a while. O'Leary scores with a nice knee, it appeared to catch Bretton in the gut. Bretton uses a single leg trip and takes the fight to the ground. Bretton gets to side control upon impact, and immediately goes for an armbar. O'Leary reacts quickly, but is in real danger. Bretton has his left arm straightened out, fortunately O'Leary has managed to roll and get a good position that is stopping Bretton from getting the leverage needed to apply an armlock. Bretton tries to step over and fully apply it, but O'Leary breaks free and gets him to back off with a couple of up-kicks. Bretton steps back and motions for him to stand up. They go back to circling in the center. O'Leary hits a nice right hand, but takes one back too. The time runs down; Bretton will probably get that round on points, he hit the best punch of the round, and got the only takedown, plus was the one who was working toward a submission. Round 3
Bretton and O'Leary meet in the center, and both throw looping right hands at the same time. Neither hits home. Bretton throws a couple of nice jabs that cause O'Leary to cover up. Derek South (1-1) versus Graham Goodbody (2-0)

Round 1
The two fighters meet in the center with an exchange of jabs, but neither gets anything but gloves or air. They go right into a clinch, with only a few seconds of the match gone. Goodbody gets a knee to the ribs in, but it wasn't particularly hard. They break. South clinches with Goodbody. A quick trip sends Goodbody falling backward, pulling guard to take South down with him. Goodbody struggles to contain South, who passes to half guard without too much trouble. A few hard shots get thrown, and Goodbody does well to defend them, deflecting them off his gloves. South is trying to get his leg free so that he can get into side control. Goodbody throws a couple of punches from his back, but they do very little damage. South half-stands, and throws a couple of big punches with a lot of force behind them. One is blocked, but the other hits home just below the left eye. Goodbody tries to cover up, while South manages to get his leg free and get into a mount. Goodbody is in big trouble. He tries to roll his hips and shift South's weight, but it's not working. South fires off a couple of punches, then drops an absolute bomb of a right hand, landing flush on the chin! Goodbody is out, just for a second, but the referee has already pulled South off. Sharp-eyed refereeing there. This match is over by knock out. South wins via knock out at 1:50 of the first round.

Semi-Main:Stefan Champion (2-0) vs Luke Hilton (5-1) for the vacant UFF Lightweight Championship

Round 1
Slow start, both fighters are throwing tentative punches without threatening anything more powerful. Hilton puts together the first exciting moment, stringing together four punches in quick succession, but Champion defended well. Straight right from Champion in response, but it caught nothing but gloves. They start circling. The referee tells them to fight, the lack of action so far is worrying. They get in close and exchange body shots, Hilton probably getting the slightly better punches in, and then fall into a clinch. That goes nowehere, and the referee separates them. Champion gets a nice kick in just before the time expires, but it's unlikely that is going to stop the judges giving that round to Hilton. End of round 1. Blurcat.com sees it 10-9 to Hilton.

Round 2
Champion pushes Hilton up against the cage in a clinch. Champion throws a knee, then a couple of short punches to the side of the head. Hilton pushes him away and steps in to score with an uppercut. Champion took it flush on the chin and is rocked! Another right hand drops Champion against the cage, and Hilton follows up by unloading with a barrage of punches. The referee gets in and pulls Hilton away, he wins the match by TKO. Hilton wins via second round TKO at 1:31. Luke Hilton is the new Lightweight Championship champion.

No real damage caused, but Mack is aggressively chasing this match. A hook finds the body and Chekhov clinches. They almost lose their balance as they jockey for position, Chekhov gets in a couple of knees when they regain their footing. Mack seems to be trying to break the clinch, it's Chekhov who is holding it tight, perhaps hoping to calm the energetic start that Mack had. The referee finally does break them up, after nearly a full minute of inactivity. They exchange punches. Mack hits a nice jab just above the left eye, but takes a hard punch to the cheek at the same time. Mack momentarily loses his footing and drops his hands, that shot having really rung his bell. Chekhov shoots off another right hand to capitalise, and this time it's the killer blow, Mack falls back and crash-lands on the floor, he was out cold from the instant that punch hit. A knock out victory for Chekhov. Official time of the knock out is 3:57 of the second. Aleksei Chekhov successfully retains the Light Heavyweight Championship title.

Damn. Chekov is living up to his name "Fists of Death". That's two fights, and Two KTFO (Knocked the F*** OUT!) opponents!

I gotta build this guy up.. I mean, he's won the title and defended it once. I gotta see who else I can feed.. er... put against this guy. And he only wants $2500/$2500 a fight so far (although I have a feeling he's gonna want more., and soon!

Day 1 things to do: Unless you started with a great reputation, all the production/marketing etcetera costs will EAT YOU ALIVE. I'm down to $6K in the bank after two full months. Take manual control and drop all your costs to the bare mininum. You can only change this on your first day. I've made some changes, and production cost, for example, drops from $2500 per 100 people to $900 per 100 people. It's not gonna be fancy, but right now, I'm just trying to survive.

3 5 minute rounds for all fights (I'm thinking about using 5 rounders for championship fights, but we'll see.. we have some less then exciting champions right now)

The only legal move in the list is elbows to the head/face, and yup, we're fighting in the cage.

Luke Hilton was an absolute stud for me in the time he worked at my Indy Org. The fighter I hated losing the most. He even won the Fighter of the Year award from Blurcat.

I went with just two weight divisions to make things a bit easier to manager for the start and am just now adding a third. Lets me have a much smaller roster to manage which I enjoy, and I can slowly build it up.

Great read though, I'll be following.
