what your favorite dinner buffet at Las Vegas?

going to head to Vegas real soon. what your favorite dinner buffet at vegas?

i loved the Paris hotel buffet they have for dinner. if you love seafood. i highly recommend you go there. the seafood and desserts are great.

Never even thought the Paris had a buffet.
Personally I like the Station casinos buffet.
Im also partial to The Feast Around The World at the Rio. Oh The Aladdin also has a smashing Buffet.

I like Aladdin, Rio, and MGM. Bally's I like for lunch, but not dinner. Mirage used to be my favorite, but not since they redid it a few years ago (or was it last year?). I think that one sucks now.

MGM's is pretty good and classy too with all those wine glasses and such.
The Mandalay Bay also has a good, though expensive buffet, and has an exotic design and exotic food. The TI also has a nice buffet.

mgm is really good, but costs 2x as much as all the others (worth it though)

after that, i would say the monte carlo is the next best, they have alot of "made to order stations" that are excellent.

I just can't see my self other being enamored with any buffet... are these buffets really better than the chain restaurant ones?

Caesar's Palace used to have good one but they changed it into a Cafe/Buffet type place that has limited and un appetizing selections.

Definitely the buffett at Paris. After all of these years, I had sworn off buffets (after doing about 12 over them) in Las Vegas but still leave Paris as the only one I would still go to - esp breakfast/brunch.

The seafood one at Rio, while highly touted, is way, way overrated imo - unless you like, umm, seafood (I do but not crabs, lobsters, mussells - what little fresh fish they had was warmed-up frozen or fried).

Just in vegas last weekend, and I stayed at Bally's. I thought the buffet was good, but wasn't floored by it. They did have some things I didn't expect that was really cool, like an omelette making station and choizo & eggs. The dessert section had some good, if basic, selections, too.

I didn't go there for dinner just breakfast-lunch (they kinda combine the two with an all-daytime brunch sorta thing).

Haven't done a dinner buffet in Vegas in some time, but I was always impressed by the choices at the Rio way back when (which included burgers and shakes, yay), and I haven't heard that it has changed at all (still hear people extolling tis virtues).

Mrs. SpeechCoach and I used to go and thoroughly abuse the Seafood Village Buffet at the Rio. Unfortunately, it went up to $40+ a person, which was a bit high for our tastes. The Bellagio has a wonderful buffet. It isn't extremely expensive (all things considered), and has things like duck and deer at the carving stations on their special Saturday night spread. Plus, it has an incredible dessert selection. For (relatively) inexpensive buffets, the Pharaoh's Pheast at the Luxor is underrated. It isn't gourmet, but the food is fresh and prepared well.

here a good tip.

when you goto a dinner buffet try to catch it near the end of the lunch buffet time. it will be cheaper in price and it will switch to the dinner buffet while you are in there.

you will be paying the lunch buffet price for the dinner buffet.

I think the Rio is very overrated - the food is decent, but you feel like cattle while you're there. It is very institutional feeling. I like the Paris buffet better - much better atmosphere, good food. And I've heard great things about the Aladdin, but never been there.

This thread is nearly three years old so I don't know if the advice offered is still true. I'm looking for some buffet advice for 2 people who don't like sushi or seafood. Last time out there I did the Bellagio and really liked it, but would like to try a different place.

If you go to the buffet and don't find the food to your liking, go back and get twice as much food the next time. Keep doubling your portions until you get the food you want.

The Wynn buffet is very good, but I think there's a pretty steep grade in quality between lunch and dinner offerings. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed after dragging my fellow ballers there for the lunch buffet... it was good, but not great. Their AK crab legs are very well done (have them tossed on the grill for an extra bonus) but are only on the dinner menu, and the day we were there their Mediterranean offerings (among my personal favorites) were pretty weak (they often have lamb-stuffed grilled tomatoes that are sensational). Their Veal Osso Bucco was very good (though not quite as good as at Paris) but it, too, was not available on that day at lunch.

Their no-sugar-added pecan pie is still among the better desserts I've had, regardless of its dietetic state. Really excellent.

I am not a 100% buffet person, but when I'm in full-on poker mode, I really prefer to have one large meal a day, and then just pepper in a few things here and there. A mid-afternoon lunch buffet works perfectly for my usual Vegas schedule. I think the Wynn is, overall, a bit better than the planet hollywood buffet (they just kept the Aladdin's Spice Market Buffet intact, it's not a new offering) and the surroundings are far, far better. There are cheaper offerings around town, but honestly, if you're choking on paying $22 for a buffet lunch... maybe you'd be more comfortable in our one our lower stakes sites such as Branson or Tunica.

The A list: Wynn, planet hollywood, Bellagio, Paris (especially Sunday)
