Happy US Independence Day!

Anyone in the States doing anything fun? I think I'll be going to a cookout with friends, but I'll have to leave early since I'm going to have to pack for my trip to Jersey for 2 weeks (starting Saturday).

While my rebellious side feels the need to shun such idiotic displays of jingoism, I will give in to my desire to drink copious amounts of booze and eat barbeque.

Happy 4th Everyone!

We'll be doing a cookout with family and friends tonight and then setting off our own fireworks in our street with neighbors.

Just finished the yard work, going to a cook-out next, then a huge fireworks show over on the base tonight.

(And just as I finish typing that an F-16 flys over for good measure. Jingoism FTW!!! Woot! )

We set off some fireworks last night. We'll be doing the same tonight. Mrs. Eaglesfan27 (she's the trained chef, so I don't mind turning over grilling duties) will start grilling in an hour or so. Wife's father and brother are here for the festivities and some friends will be dropping by later today.

We'll be driving from Austin Mn to Rapid City SD. But we are going to Mt Rushmore when we get there so hopefully it will be a neat experience.

Here are a couple tips to spice things up a bit while there:

Don't forget to look for the city of gold.

Or reclaim the land in the name of the Lokota Indians.

Happy 4th Folks....We are grilling here, I have the steak and chicken soaking in my Polynesian marinade. The wife works until 6, so I won't start the grilling until about 5:30.

As for tonight we are debating between the Fireworks at the Falls or the ones over the University.

Happy 4th from the Heath family. We're going to be grilling brats (not much of a hot dog fan) and burgers while knocking down a few cool ones.

You set off fireworks on the 4th of July with an English family. Classic.

Went to in-laws for BBQ, swimming and general merriment. Went to local fireworks show. then set some off. Very laid back.
