I have a question about the (yahoo) rotisserie scoring. I have really no base stealer's, think 9 is my season high . Is it possible to do very well in other categories to make up for this? or should i trade to at least have something in that category?
For example, my sp's are: sabathia, harang, webb, lincecum and chris young. would it make sense to trade one of these for a runner? thinking Hanley Ramírez thanks. |

No, I don't think it would be worth it, at first glance. In these times, SB points would be hard to come by and you would have to give up more valuable (season-wise) points to do so. |

We have a trade that is a bit controversial right now. Curious what you guys think....NL only, 10 teams, 5 x 5 with OBP instead of average.

Looks like the Reyes person got a pretty nice deal. I am guessing the other team was severely needing of pitching. It seems a tad uneven nothing Id veto though. |

The general feeling is the Reyes/Berkman side is making out big time. I and two other owners vetoed it and as it stands now, it's passing 4-3. One more vote guarantees passage. |

Hey boys...need opinions...
I'm trading Capps for power. Nothing else to consider really other than who would you trade for -- Ankiel or Votto? Last edited by rowech : 06-12-2008 at 06:18 PM. |

I'd trade for Votto. He has more support around him in the lineup and he plays half of his games in a bandbox park.

Need to drop one of these guys (NL only, keeper league)
M. Antonelli Towles Bonifacio Pearce Carp Antonelli seems likely choice but, the last 6 games he is showing signs of getting out of the funk.

I'd keep Pearce and Towles for sure. I'd say who you drop depends on your other depth at each position.

Gonzalez $17, Dewitt $5 MI/CI I have spots next year.. more so at MI so, why I'm hesistant to drop either Bonifacio or Antonelli and Hudson is a FA next year in AZ... Carp is killing the ball for the Mets right now and Delgado stinks.

I'd probably need to see your entire roster to make a truly informed decision. You look set at CI with those three eligible. If Adrian Gonzalez is your CI, who is your 1B? Pujols?

*L* Just figured someone could see who would be at what position by just saying CI/MI The rest of the offense OF - Ankiel $5/Bay X/Francouer $15/Tavaras $23/Pence $22 U - Casto $5 C - Snyder $6 I can't keep Bay next year. Tavaras is a one trick pony right now, but steals guys on the FA market in our league go for $$$ at auction time. Oh, I COULD drop Scherzer, but that isn't even an option.

Haven't been involved much in this thread, but since I made a huge deal both last week and today in my work league, and with some time to kill before I leave work for a 5-day weekend, I figured I'd gather some thoughts.
League background first: H2H, rosters set weekly, start 1 at each IF position, 3 OFs, 2 UTILs, 3 SPs, 2 RPs, 2 Ps. Hitting categories: R, HR, RBI, K, AVG, OBP, SLG, Net SBs Pitching Categories: IP, W, L, K, ERA, WHIP, Net Saves, Inherited Runners Allowed to Score My team was in 9th place out of 10. My offense was just overall bad. I had some injuries (Rollins at the start of the season, Brynes pretty much all season, Vernon Wells, etc). Nothing major, and not using that as an excuse but I obviously needed to make some changes. Basically Lance Berkman was my only solid hitter. My pitching was solid, at least on paper, and they performed well enough to keep me from getting destroyed most weeks. Santana, Kazmir, Bedard, and Garza starting, with Jenks, F. Cordero, and Lidge in the RP/P spots. On the bench I've had Buerhle and Cueto with Carmona taking up a spot on the DL. So that was my starting staff, and my hitters starting were as follows: C: Mauer, 1B: Pena, 2B: M. Ellis, SS: Rollins, 3B: C. Blake (had just picked him up), OF: Berkman, Bay, Cust, UTIL: Fukodome and Posada...on the bench was Wells, Byrnes (hurt), Kotchman, DeWitt, couple others Last week, I swapped Berkman and Posada for Hanley Ramirez and Cano. Berkman fell off a bit in June (I believe he hit about .275) and Cano has always played better in the 2nd half. I knew this was a bit of a risk but I figured this was the most value I'd be able to get. I knew this wouldn't be enough, so today I moved Kazmir and the underachieving Jimmy Rollins (being able to take Hanley out of the UTIL role was a nice benefit) for Aramis Ramirez and Milton Bradley. My starting lineup should now be: C: Mauer, 1B: Pena/Blake, 2B: Cano, SS: H. Ramirez, 3B: A. Ramirez, OF: Bradley, Bay, Fukudome, UTIL: probably Wells and the other of Blake/Pena. So did I improve my team enough? I feel like I did...hitting wins in this league and I definitely didn't have enough of it. My SP staff will miss Kazmir but pitching tends to be streakier and also easier to find in FA/smaller trades. Opinions pro and con welcome, thanks. |

Just had an incredible night of fantasy baseball pitching. I had
CC Sabathia W, 9.0IP, 6WH, 0ER, 9K Paul Maholm ND, 7.0IP, 8WH, 0ER, 10K Oliver Perez W, 7.0IP, 5 WH, 0ER, 8K Jeremy Guthrie W,7.0IP, 6WH, 1ER, 4K You almost expect those kind of numbers from CC, but the other 3 guys? All on the same night?!?!?!
