It is going to be 103 here tomorrow and I have got to mow the grass. I don't have a small yard either and all I have is a push lawn mower. Burn.

That's the problem. I have to get up at the butt crack of dawn to mow my yard on a Sunday (my first day off in a week).

Yeah it's supposed to be 103 out here too but I'll take that over 120 in Phoenix anyday.

We're on a streak of over 20 days with 90-degree weather or hotter. We hit 103 today and 104 on Friday. I freakin' hate summer.

Dola, For the first year I lived here, I mowed my 1.8 acres with a push mower. I soon saw the light and for the next year, had a riding mower.

I have to mow the lawn tomorrow as well, although it should stay just under 100 here at 98 or so, like 200 other days of the year or so. I get to move some more trees around too. And spray the yard because the hurricane has helped bring back ticks and fleas along with the plague of mosquitoes. Good time of the year.
At least I can chalk it all up as my work out for tomorrow. Always a bright side.

84 here in the Hill Country. At least we have 20 million+ bats here to help knock down the number of flying bugs.

20 days? I don't think we've had a high below 90 here since April... And I'm the opposite of Lorena...I would rather have a nice, dry 120 versus 107 with 70% humidity.

That's 106 with 30% humidity. That'll make it feel like 113 to the human body.

I didn't even bring out the humidity and heat index last night. Our high will be 97 today, with humidity of 65%. That is a heat index of around 125 according to the NOAA site (I am guessing because 96 degrees is 121 heat index and 98 is at 128).
I think I win. edit: time to gear up for yard work. woot!

I don't like dry + insanely hot. I can deal with dry + kinda hot, or humid + hot, but dry + insanely hot just causes rivers of blood.

January is typicaly in the 40's with small snow squalls. Now February can get downright titillating...sub-20's and wind chills in the -teens. I love the Winter though. Give me 4 feet of snow (preferabbly after plowing out, I have a monster truck of a snowblower just for playing in the snow *grins*) and temps in the mid 20's and I'm a happy camper. |

It gets pretty hot here in August. I don't have to mow my lawn, though - the rocks don't grow.

It's now 105, but the humidity has fallen from 64% this morning to 23%. That makes it feel like it's 107.

No need to feel sorry for me, I lived through it and awarded myself with a bowl of ice cream after dinner. Actually, the humidity must have been lower then the 65 they said, because I know it didn't feel like 124 degrees, more like 105-110 maybe. The worst part was the mosquitoes. I sprayed myself with the good stuff, and thought it was fine. Then I got next to the side of my yard where the neighbor is an empty lot because they are going to build a new house. We got them to pump out the lot after the hurricane, but it wasn't enough. I started weed whacking near the fence and was swarmed with the little blood suckers. The most mosquitoes I have ever seen. And they followed me. I was covered with dead mosquitoes until I showered.

Pssshhhh.... try living in a country where the average temperature is 90, and humidity is between 90% and 100%.

Don't know, I've never been there. I thought the park was the only thing in Sandusky. But I am a huge coaster buff, and the place is on my list to visit. They have some INSANE rides there.

It's crazy wet heat. The type that just makes you not want to move... at all. It just completely drains you.... ARGH! When will Global Warming speed up and make it snow here in the equator?

Yesterday and today is the first major heat Kansas City has really had all summer. We've had a lot of relatively mild weather. It was supposed to get hot last week, but then tropical depression Dolly dropped into our area and dumped 7 inches of rain on us. That slowed down the heat just a bit.

I'm up here for the National Matches at Camp Perry, and Sandusky's got the best selection of hotels in the area. Interestingly enough, many of them have indoor water parks attached to them. It's crazy. We went to a place called the Kalahari Resort for dinner Saturday night... this place is HUGE. It's the size of a Las Vegas casino... but no gambling.

It officially made it to 106 in Edmond yesterday. NOAA expects it to make it there again today.

He wasn't kidding. Spent a great week in SF (plus 4 days in Oregon). It was basically frigid on the west side of the peninsula where we stayed. The furnace was going part of the day and most of the night - just to keep the house at 67-68!!! My favorite quote is Mark Twain's "The coldest winter I have experienced was a summer in San Francisco." |
