I think I misunderstood the rule. So in FA1 all stages every player who is a FA must sign for at least 3 years? For some reason I was thinking FA stage 1.

I guess I use terminology there that isn't universal, because you're not the only one who thought that.

In BenSpeak:

FA1 = Early free agency (all stages)
FA2 = Late free agency (all stages)
FA1:1 = Early Free Agency, Stage 1
FA2:4 = Late Free Agency, Stage 4
