2021 Draft Discussion
With nothing better to do while we wait...have at it!!!
Didn't expect to see a RB go #1 overall and I'm not even sure he's the best one out there...but I didn't interview either Card or Stone to know how much of there SOL went to HR and how much went to intelligence. Minny definitely gets good value with their pick as he looks to be solid all over. I figured guys would be reaching for WRs and can't say that I'm surprised at Lucas being the first one off the board. Also, SFO has a ton of picks to "gamble" with so all the power to them. The RB and the WR going 1-2 definitely surprised me a smidge.
Minn nabbing that DE is damned nice at #3. |

I'll be interested to see how Anhorn works out for Houston. I was seriously considering picking him even though my team is riddled with holes. The only thing that concerned me about him was his % dev (9). If he was around 30% - 35%, he'd be a Brown right now.

Baltimore on the clock... set for 30 minutes, and I'm talking with at least one team already. Won't be a long wait, but we might be ironing something out soon.

Anhorn's dev. is a little scary to say the least...but with our cap on WR talent...it very well could be worth the risk.

The DE seems like a pretty safe pick and fills a big need for us.

Gray looks to be another no-brainer and is still very good value at 1.5 but one has to wonder if having top end corners is really that important as the league goes forward considering our WR/QB limitations??
I'm just sayin'.... |

I pretty much have a bunch of nothing in the secondary (and a lot of other places) and consistantly got burned by other WRs last year. I wanted Anhorn for the offense I run, but I'll take a shutdown corner.

Ok, now that I picked blind - did anyone interview Bradford? What was his Intelligence?
Anyway. Bradford seemed like a solid pick here in this league to me. Not a ton at the flashy positions and you have what looks to be a very solid QB (pending his intelligence score) in a league that has nerfed QB's. He wouldn't go 1.10 in other leagues, but here it seems solid to me.

I think Sampson can become one hell of a defensive end, should be a serious pass rusher.
However, we're open to trading him, as he is going to force a pretty major chemistry shift for us if he sticks around. Anyone interested in an impact DE (or pass rushing DT) drop a line. |

I was wondering when the QB's would start falling.

Pretty happy with my pick of QB Reese. I wasn't so sure he would last until my pick.

Needing a DE we had to take Coleman here, worried about his "40" time but we shall see what happens with him.

After taking Le-Lu at 1.2, we shore up the other side of the ball with Wayne Vaughn.
Vaughn will convert over to corner nicely and is a nice affinity match with my other studly CB. Me likely that 40-time. |

Looks like I better get some players in the utility now that I can actually see my pick coming...

Pretty happy to grab T Clifton Castillo. Pass protection was a big problem for us last year and this should help a bit.

Anyone want the pick at 2.5? On the clock now... I have four or five guys I like about equally here.

Picked up two offensive lineman with high volatility in the first. Will either be cornerstones of my offensive line for years to come or I will regret these picks for years to come.

Pretty sure I might claw my eyes out if this goes any slower.

Waiting to hear back on a potential deal. If nothing happens within the next 15 minutes, I'll make my pick.

I have to stop it to change the time limit. It's back on now. It'll stop again at the end of round 4 for the same reason.

San Fran and Houston should really get in there and throw some lists in so this thing will move tonight.

Looks like Minnesota list-picked for 1, then ran out of picks. Doh.

Really like the 10-minute picking in rounds 5 through 7. With the speed we had this year, we can actually turn the clock off the second night as well so people can have the option of refreshing their lists during the day.

I'm not sure it's ideal for the run-of-the-mill MP league, but for one set up under these premises, I think it works great. The conscriptor tool gives you a lot of control if you want it.

The later rounds caught me flat-footed, but I'll be better prepared next time.
I do think we should snip the first round limit by 2 hours - otherwise...works great.

I am going to agree with Subby here. I think we need to shorten the first round. That is the one round everyone should be prepared for.
As for the later rounds. They move to fast for me really but I'm fine with it. |
