UConn or Troy State would be my suggestion. You always have the opportunityt to move from an independent to a major conference, depending on your success.

I created a team put it in the WAC and at the end of my 11th season I was invited to join the B12! This is a great game.

If you want a crappy team in a crappy conference then they don't get much worse than UL Lafayette or UL Monroe.

Yes, it's new. But wait. EA never adds new features. This must be a mistake!

I'm running a Troy State dynasty and after 2006 I finished #2 and had the #2 recruting class in the nation with 5 5* defensive backs. Being I could schedule anyone I started out two years with a horrible schedules to boost prestige, average schedule in year 3 with 2 ranked teams and went undefeated season, beating FSU in a thrilling Orange bowl where I scored in the final minute to tie, picked off a pass with :20 left and hit a field goal to win. Oddly enough, it was only my #3 greatest game.

You gotta go with UTEP! They're in a state with tons of great recruits, in a solid conference (but you also have the chance to move up to the Big 12 if you do well enough), and as sooner said, you'll have me as you most avid follower of the dynasty!

Let's go Miners!!!

I listened to that game over the internet. We Miner fans had high hopes going into the game.

Not a fun game at all....for me at least...

Temple would give you the toughest schedule...as long as you could keep them from being kicked out of the Big East.

I started a dynasty with Troy State. Took me 4 years to build it into a five star program, 5 to make it a 6. In my 7th year, I won the national title and they kicked Florida out of the SEC to invite me. Yikes.

I started my first sim-only dynasty last night, starting off with Idaho...

...Yikes. They suck. Not only did I struggle through a 1-win season with little talent on the roster, I get to recruiting and discover I have something like 75 points to work with and only 1 guy that has me 'very high' on his list. I did what I could, but still failed to attain a winning record in my 3-year contract even while scheduling (what I thought were) patsies and was canned.

Of course, that turned out to be a good thing as a number of 1-star teams still thought I was worthy of hiring (go figure). The best of them was BYU, where I've had a few more resources to work with (much greater recruiting budget) and have notched 2 bowl victories in my 4 seasons. The first bowl season in year 2 netted me a 4-year contract extension (I like how contracts have been improved).

Anyway, my point is this - if you're looking for a challenge, Idaho fills the bill.

Saw that game on ESPN Classic last night (actually early this morning) after I finished playing NCAA for the night.

I watched that game on "Classic" too. First time I got to see what set it up. Wild how the dumb students had torn down a goalpost before realizing they lost

Have any of you tried the Greatest Games yet? If you have, or if you haven't, check out the Michigan Vs. Colorado game, I forgot what they call it though. That one is tough(5 seconds left, you have to throw a 64 yard touchdown as Colorado).....

I finally beat it, by doing a halfback pass, it worked to perfection

That final play in the Kentucky Vs. LSU game, may be one of the greatest plays I've ever seen, wow that was amazing...

It's one of the most utterly sickening plays I've ever seen. It almost makes me as sick as that shot by Christian Laettner.

Oh yeah, and they didn't end up tearing the goal post down. The dumbasses realized we had lost, and left it slightly bent.

That was very sweet, but I don't think it even should have won the play of the year at the ESPYs. The most amazing play I saw last year was Gary Anderson's 53 yard fieldgoal to beat Miami. That was the most insane kick I've ever seen.

Keith Robinson kicked a 59 yard field goal for UTEP as time was expiring to beat Rice last year.

Just thought you might like to know...

Yes, but the Anderson kick was better for 2 reasons:

1) It's a 53 yarder by a guy who's not supposed to have the leg strength to kick that far. The Dolphins thought they had it won when they saw him on the field.

2) The path of the kick. Curved to the right, then when it looks like the kick is gonna be wide, it hooks back to the left and gets just inside the uprights. The kick was thing of beauty.

Yeah, but....

The 59 yarder was the longest in UTEP history. The Miners almost ran out the clock but Coach Nord decided at the last second that he might as well try a FG. And it worked out for the best.

Oh, and that win against Rice was our only win against a Div 1-A team all year. The crowd went nuts after the kick was good, though they managed to refrain from tearing down the goal posts...

Should I mention that this kick also broke the NFL career scoring record?

Idaho would be a big challenge...im playing as boise state and having a hard time with recruits even though we are a contender every year for the wac...i get all the best recruits in idaho and monata, ad i still havent even broke top 50 in recruiting...idaho would be a nice challenge, or promote a D-1AA school and put the in...could be hard too
