Oh man, I recall the SNL skit when Sigourney Weaver was host. The person that played Paxton's role (Dana Carvey?) was way over the top. Hilarious.
Paxton was awesome in Aliens. |

Bill Paxton is to Aliens what Wignasty is to FOFC.

Paxton was awesome in "Aliens", I loved Hudson.
I heard he was even better in "Near Dark".

After reading this, I got to wondering what movie character would headline Paxton's obituary if he died today.
Would it be Hudson in Aliens? Chet in Weird Science? The treasure hunter in Titanic? Apollo 13 (never seen it)? Morgan Earp? Dude's been in a ton of movies, but doesn't really have a defining character. I think, for me, I will always think of him as Chet, with Hudson as a close second (and that is only b/c my brother and I still use the "Game over, man!" quote from time to time). |

I think his best performance was the radar operator in Commando. However, he did an admirable performance in Aliens as Hudson.

According to IMDB, he was in an episode of "The Hitchhiker" in 1983 and played a character named "Trout".

His performance as one of the punks in Terminator (Laundry day?) tops his radar operator role in Commando.

That was actually one of the first roles that came to my mind (after Chet and Hudson). I liked that movie quite a bit when it came out, but haven't seen it in a long time. |

Lets not forget Severen in Near Dark.
Oh, and what exactly does aweful mean? Full of awe? If so, I'm not seeing it that much in Aliens.

In fact, he directed Frailty. A very underrated film.
