TEW 08 - WWF after the Screwjob

I was inspired by DeTox's WCW dynasty and I've enjoyed the TEW game in the past, so I decided to take a look at what the WWF would do after the "screwjob".

I hope people enjoy it.

Our roster is not very strong. Here's how things breakdown based on how Vince McMahon wants us to push guys.

Main Eventers

Shawn Michaels - Our current world champion. The best all-around wrestler on our roster and probably in the world. Signed for 2 more years at $25,920 per month. Currently he is a "heel". Also currently holds the European title.

Steve Austin - Our most popular "face" wrestler. An outstanding brawler who can also work a technical match when needed. A great entertainer. Currently signed for 4 years at $23,760 per month. Currently our Intercontinental champion.

The Undertaker - Our #2 face. Signed for 6 more years at $25,920 per month. Very popular in North America and the UK. Good at working a brawling style, he may need a manager to help him out. Better as a heel than a face.

Owen Hart - Got left behind when Bret and the rest of the Hart Foundation headed to WCW. Signed for $15,000 a month for 3 more years. Very good technical wrestler who lacks in the entertainment department. Will main event some shows in Canada for us.

The Rock - 3rd generation superstar. Signed for 4 more years at $10,000 a month. A steal. Better entertainer than in the ring, but hopefully he can improve things going forward. An up and comer for us. Currently a Heel.

Hunter Hearst-Helmsley - Another young heel for us. Signed for 4 more years at $15,000 per month. Decent technical wrestler who can brawl and cut a good promo.

Ahmed Johnson - A young face. He is making $15,000 a month for 9 more months. Horrible wrestler with average promo skills. I'm gonna use him to put heels over til his contract expires.

Jeff Jarrett - Just came back to the WWF after a year in WCW. A solid all-around worker, with decent entertainment skills. Working as a heel for us. Has 2 years left on a contract at $15,000 per month.

Ken Shamrock - Working as a face for us. $15,000 per month contract for 18 months. Solid technical wrestler, ok brawler, below average on the mic. Needs a manager. Very popular in Japan.

Mankind - One of Mick Foley's gimmicks. Currently working as a face, but could do a very good job as a heel as well. Signed for 4 years at $18,000 per month. Great brawler who will cut a great promo as well. Weak technical skills.

Kane - Working as a heel currently. Signed for 4 more years at $15,000 per month. ok brawler, no technical skills. No mic skills either, so hopefully his manager can help him get over.

Upper Midcard

Billy Gunn - Working as a heel. Signed for 4 years at $10,000 per month. Not good in the ring. Currently half of the tag team champions

Faarooq - The leader of the Nation of Domination. Working as a heel. He is signed for 3 more years at $6,000 per month. Solid brawler and decent on the mic.

Goldust - Signed for 3 more years at $10,000 per month. Working as a heel right now, Solid brawler, sub par on the mic. Managed by Luna Vachon currently.

Kama Mustafa - Working as a heel member of the Nation of Domination. Signed for 4 more years at $4,000 per month. Ok promo skills. Subpar.

Marc Mero - Decent technical skills with aerial flashiness. Currently working as a heel. Signed for 18 months at $4,000 per month. I like him

Road Dogg - The other half of the current tag champs. Pretty good promo skills, decent enough in the ring. Signed for 3 more years at $10,000 per month.

Road Warrior Animal - Working as a face currently. Signed for 2 more years at $10,000 per month. Decent brawler

Road Warrior Hawk - Working as a face currently. Signed for 2 more years at $10,000 per month. Decent brawler. Good promo skills.

Savio Vega - Signed for 9 months at $4,000 per month. Solid all-around wrestler. Works as a heel and the leader of the Boricuas.

Steve Blackman - A newcomer to the WWF. Signed for 2 years at $4,000 per month, he is working as a face. Solid brawler

Vader - Good promo, good brawler. Currently working as a face, but much better as a heel. Signed for 12 months at $10,000 per month.

We currently have $2,500,000 in cash reserves. We have pretty much set costs for our talent roster tho so we should be able to manage things, but we are currently paying out over $1 Million per month between our marketing, legal and administrative departments.

We currently have 2 television shows. Raw airs on Mondays on TSN and USA, and Fridays on Sky Sports (UK). Shotgun Saturday Night airs on various nextworks on Saturday nights.

Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler and Vince McMahon will handle announcing duties for major events. Ross and Lawler will handle Raw, and Ross and Cornette will man the announcing table for Shotgun Saturday Night.

We did a 3.67 rating on USA and a 0.86 rating on TSN for our first show.

We have added Ohio Valley Wrestling as a developmental territory so we now have a place to send any prospects we might sign.

Wouldn't worry too much. I've done WWF before. Shotgun is a waste of a show. You'll get hardly any ratings even if you use the top guys. Better off canceling it and trying to get a better show down the road.

I tried to cancelShotgun Saturday Night, but the broadcasters threatened legal action against me. I don't need a show that does 0.00 ratings to waste my time, so maybe I can autobook it or something.

I respectfully disagree DeTox. B shows in the game are a great place to get your workers who are not over over without affecting your overal popularity in any way. For instance if I hire two guys with E pop in the US and have them main event my B show for a global promotion, it may not be realistic, but it does not affect my popularity in the slightest. In fact, it helps my A show because these guys can be built up here before they have a chance to bomb my shows that matter.

Enjoying the read so far Mike. If I could offer some suggestions it would be make the last two matches on your card the two you think are going to score the highest grade. The highest grade needs to go on last and the second highest needs to go on second to last. If you mess this order up it can really hurt the grade of the show. If the last match is not the highest on the show it can really hurt the grade of the show.

The game REALLY looks hard at the last two matches in determining the grade for the show. A horrible undercard can be saved by a great final two and an undercard full of A's can be sunk to a C overall show with two C rated matches to finish things off.

As for your third best match of the night? I would lead the show off with that. Also make sure you don't book a red hot segment right before a stinker of a main event if that is what you have planned for the night. It will make the stinker look even worse by comparision and hurt the grade of the show.

I hope you find this helpful. If you need anymore help feel free to ask.

Edit-- One more tidbit, if you have a great match that you just know is going to crush your main event in ratings and you don't want to put it in the main event slot run it as early in the card as possible. If you run it right before the main event and say it gets an A and then you run your main event and say it gets a B you just destroyed your card and will probably end up with a rating of B- due to your main event being such a let down.

I think I did a better job, especially when it comes to booking angles. We just don't have the horses to put on great TV matches and the guys I do have that can work, I'm holding off on booking together. I might have to bite the bullet sooner than later tho.

Having LOD in the main killed your show rating. If that match gets out of the way earlier and Mankind/NOD, etc is the main then you were probably looking at a C-

I think I did a better job, especially when it comes to booking angles. We just don't have the horses to put on great TV matches and the guys I do have that can work, I'm holding off on booking together. I might have to bite the bullet sooner than later tho.

Now that was a good show. Probably about the best you can hope for in terms of work, with the exception of the 2 D matches on the card.

Shotgun Saturday Night consistently does 0.00 ratings on every syndicator, so there is no point to this show.

Monday Night Raw had a 3.63 rating on USA and a 0.82 rating on TSN.

Monday Nitro had a 6.65 rating on TNT.

We have a few troublemakers backstage. The 2 worst are Shawn Michaels and Vince Russo. I can't fire the world champion, but I can fire Russo.

Vince McMahon, Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna are also a source of some problems backstage, but Vince is untouchable, and HHH is close.

Great show for me. It's really hard to fill 80% of card with matches when you don't have the horses, but we did a good job all in all. I could have broken up the 6 man into 2 other matches if I really wanted to keep the performance up.

A good show. A few segments dragged us down in spots, but Owen and Shawn really tore it down in the main event. I am going to go back to this match next week, but I plan to hold off the Owen-Shawn feud til after 'Mania, and then build with them towards Summerslam. Some of the guys on my roster just plain suck.

In December we had a profit of $1,846,486. I feel really good about things now, because I wasn't sure how things would go that first month. Now I basically know what my fixed costs are and I am very confident we won't have a losing month.

seems like you've discovered a workable formula there Mike...well done. Aaaah Owen Hart vs. HBK. So many ways you could go with that - acknowledging the screwjob and having Owen out for vengence, having Vince & Shawn as an alliance and Vince essentially holding Owen back from leaving against his will...etc

Yeah. I have plans for them to feud during the summer, perhaps culminating at Summerslam. I actually have a lot of main events in mind for the next 8 months or so, but I have to hope guys can improve.
