FOOL-X Initial File up! (Please read post and check in)

Great news all, the first FOOL-X file is up. Here are the quick instructions on what you need to do:

1) In your OOTP10 Saved Games folder (For Windows XP, that path is generally C:\My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 10\saved_games ) create a new league folder called FOOL-X.lg

2) Download the new league file from: http://www.bb-bbcf.net/foolx/file/foolx.tar.gz

3) Extract the league file into the FOOL-X.lg folder that you created in step 1. After extracting, you should see a bunch of .dat files and other folders. If all you see is foolx.tar then you need to also extract that file into that directory as well.

4) Once the files are extracted in the correct folder, launch OOTP10 and choose to "Load Game" You should then see FOOL-X listed as one of the leagues that you can load. Go ahead and do so.

5) Once the league loads, you should find the manager name that you listed that you wanted for your team. "Login" as your manager and you should be taken to your team home page.

6) Verify that your ballpark, team logos, uniforms, caps and anything else that you requested is correct. For teams that did not submit logos, I did my best to find a good one for you. If you would prefer to change it out with something else, or modify your team colors/uniforms/whatever in some way please let me know now.

7) Go into your Manager Options and enter your email address that you wish to receive OOTP notifications from the game when sims are run. Note if you do not want to receive email notifications, you can safely leave that spot blank.

8) Set your manager password if you want one.

9) Go to Game > FTP Options and enter the following for "League File Download Options":
League File Name - foolx
League File URL - http://www.bb-bbcf.net/foolx/file/foolx.tar.gz

10) Please export your team export via FTP to verify that works.

11) Post here once you have done these steps successfully so I can make sure no one has any issues.

League notes:

- I will be running a sim of 0 days on Monday morning at 5am ET and uploading a file then, just to put your email address and manager password updates into the file.

- On Tuesday we will sim from 1-03-1961 until 3-02-1961 (When Spring training begins). Feel free to offer contracts to the free agents out there (there are some decent ones available) with the Monday file. If you do it today, it won't matter since I am not simming forward any days until Tuesday morning's sim.

- Wednesday we will be on the announced schedule with Spring Training/Free Agency day 2.

- The Salary Cap for the 1961 season is $70 million. You have to be below that salary cap by opening day of 1961's regular season. You can go over it between now and then however, but you must be below cap for the regular season.

- The Salary cap for the 1962 season and on will revert back to the league rule announced $65 million. I already checked and no team will have any financial hardship getting under 65 mil unless they purposefully cause themselves hardship

- Keep in mind that since this is a new version of OOTP, some things may behave different then in the past versions. If you encounter what you think is a bug, please post and let us know. If anything acts weird, since this is a fast sim league, I will do my best to try to overcome it, but our general belief is "that stinks, but next week is a new season so just brush it off for this season".

- You are free to start making trade offers to other owners, cut players, sign players, resign players, etc at this time. This is the league file we are running with.

Correct, Draft is October 30th just like in FOOL. That means it will be the first sim after the playoffs are completed (before Free Agency). It also means that any free agency compensation for signing free agents won't take affect until the following season's draft since compensation is done in November.

Hey Alan, I forgot to send this to you. I would like to use the uniform and hat at the link below. I don't know how to verify them in game, though.

I will add them in on Monday's file, no problem. The easiest way to verify that they look ok in the game would be to look at player cards.

I spent about 4 hours trying to modify the OOTP9 export tracker to read the OOTP10 csv file and didn't have much luck. So I ended up hand editing the FOOL-X csv files to be able to set up the export tracker.

I added the link for the Export tracker to the FOOL-X stickied thread for web links, but here it is -----> EXPORT TRACKER

I've tested it some, and it should work just like the one for OOTP9 does. For the new people, if you want to make sure that your upload took, check out the tracker. If your date for your last export is blue then you're all set. If it is red, then it is an old export and you still haven't uploaded for this sim.

Let me know if you have issues with it.

FWIW, it looks like even though I only have around 65 million in contracts, my owner will not let me offer to anyone this season. Has the cap and financials been set to 70 million yet, or do I need to wait for Monday?

Wait until Monday's file for that change. The first sim on Monday morning is 0 days so won't hurt anyone.

Yep! Your file is uploaded. If you are ever unsure if your export made it or not, up in the stickied thread section, there are links for FOOL-X. One of them is the export tracker which you can use to verify if your file uploaded correctly or not.
