What a day for Erik Bowden. The 36-year-old Ann Arbor left fielder reached the 2000-hit mark today and the Winged Lingerines whipped the Chico Rebels 9-3.

Bowden told reporters, "It's good to finally get it. The closer you get to 2000, the harder it is to get there. Now the pressure is off and I can go back to just playing ball."

He went 1 for 4 in the game to reach the milestone.

Bowden has a career .281 average with 2000 hits, including 471 doubles, 33 triples and 386 homers, collected 1347 RBIs, scored 1156 runs and compiled a .395 OBP.

... as does Quero:

Friday, September 1st, 2023: Quero Takes CL Top Starter Trophy
Emmett Quero took home the Continental League Pitcher of the Month honors in August. After all these years playing ball, the 36-year-old veteran still enjoys the game as though he'd just broken camp for the first time a month ago. He's a bit older now with a few more aches and pains, but the old man has reason to celebrate, having gone 4-1 for Montreal last month and claiming the Pitcher of the Month award.

He tacked up a 1.64 ERA in his 7 starts, tossing 55 innings and striking out 49.

Up to now Quero has recorded a record of 22-5. In 35 starts he has fanned 267 batters in 254 innings with a 2.34 ERA.

Saturday, September 23rd, 2023: Rancheros Halt McIntosh's Hit Streak
Aaron McIntosh's 30-game hitting streak has now come and gone. It was snapped today in the Heroes 5-2 setback to the Rancheros. McIntosh went without a hit in 4 trips to the plate. Talking to BNN after the game he was visibly upset. But the streak had little to do with it.

"I'm disappointed we lost, I'm not one bit disappointed that the streak ended," McIntosh said. "The hitting streak was just one of those things where it was fun while it lasted, but I'm not going to lose any sleep tonight."

McIntosh is hitting .333 in 2023 with 22 home runs, 96 RBIs and 100 runs scored. He has 215 hits in 646 at-bats and played in 160 games.

Montreal made the playoffs every season for 2015 through 2022 (8 seasons in a row!)
