First things to do when you just take over a league...
I'm just curious because I joined one of my first very serious leagues. I'm in a rebuilding mode for my team. I'm just curious if any of you guys have any tips on what I should do first. I'm just looking to see what you guys prefer to do first also. Coaches are turned off, scouts are turned off.
Should I go after big-name free agents because I have ~$50 mill in my extensions / contracts budget? Or do you think it's important to keep rebuilding through the draft? Thanks. |

Go slow. Avoid the temptation to trade your best young stud pitcher for 3 or 4 castoffs. No one trades anything good. Invest heavily in international scouting. Pickings are slim in free agency as most people re-sign their very best players. It took me 7 seasons to build a winner in Dog Days; others seem to know how to do it faster, though. Going slow worked for me.
