I had never seen the original. That is pretty awesome. The bride is the worst part, though. Her dance was kinda lame. She even ruined the yakety sax version. Grrr.

For the most part, I thought the girls in generally were kind of bland on their dancing. The guys did a much better job overall.
May look cheesey, but I bet it was a fun wedding everyone there will never forget. |

Benny Hill was classic, I expected Benny to run in chasing that little old man at anytime.

Yes, it's hard to believe yakety-sax wasn't the original version.

Call me old school, but the whole thing screams white trash to me (not the parody, since that's only making fun of the original)

Why did this blow up? I mean, yeah, it was probably cool for the people at the wedding and people who know the couple who later saw the video, but BFD to me. Maybe I'm just being scrooge, the vid did nothing for me.
The "Baby Got Back" one was funnier.

Ok.... Yakety Sax version was funny, but I think Yakety Sax could make anything funny...even time-lapse footage of your loved ones decomposing.

Everyone who calls bullshit on this just wishes they had done it. I would mount the dancing bridesmaid.

That's always been my theory. I've always wanted somebody to set the Zapruder film to Yakety Sax. I think it would work. |

I think the funniest thing of all are the people actually judging the original video.

I'm not judging the video. Like I said...cool thing for all involved. I'm just wondering how it achieved meme status, which, of course, is a very dumb question to ask.

It's random, easily digestible and good for a chuckle. The meme trifecta. |

True. It's unusual for something to go viral on the internet without being of the highest possible quality.

Out of all the people in that video, there's only one dancing bridesmaid?
