The FOFC Mole: Season 2 Sign-up Thread
As some of you may know, I am a tremendous fan of the TV show, The Mole. The premise of the show is that a group of people are working together trying to complete tasks that add money to a pot that one of the contestants will win at the end of the show. The catch is that, secretly, one player is working to sabotage the tasks while remaining undercover.
The game consists of the players trying to add money to the group pot while simultaneously trying to figure out who is working against them. Periodically, the player that knows the least about who that player is is removed from the game in an "execution." Executions are basically just an elimination ceremony where the player who scored the lowest on a quiz about the "mole" is removed from the game. At the end of the game, the mole is revealed and the winner is the one who knows the most about everything the mole has done throughout the whole season. We have in the past played this game on FOFC. The thread where we played is here: The FOFC Mole Official Thread - Front Office Football Central There are lots of twists and surprises, along with some real fun. I have heard this is similar to a werewolf game, though I know absolutely nothing about that game. I would like to see if we can try a second season of the game. I am happy to host again if everyone wants, or if there is someone that wants to give that a try, I'm open to that. I think most people enjoyed my hosting and I would repeat the effort I put in last time. Last time out, we had 8 players and it was fine. This time, I would like at least that many to play. I think the game works great with anywhere from 8 to 14 players. If more want to play, we could make a concession like have some double-elimination executions at the beginning or something. Anyway, if you are interested in playing season 2 of The FOFC Mole, please indicate your interest in this thread. If you are unsure of how the game would work, you can either ask questions in this thread or you can check out the link to season 1 to see how things worked in that season. Season 2 would be pretty similar, but with new tasks and new twists. You will find, if I host, that I can be pretty devious with hiding hints about who the mole is. If you like dissecting things, you might enjoy that part of the game. Signed up: samifan24 BrianD claphamsa path12 hoopsguy MIJB#19 Poli Butter of 69 Last edited by MJ4H : 08-04-2009 at 01:56 PM. |

I'd love to play in season two. I think you should host the game since you did a great job last season.

I enjoyed season 1, so I'd play again in season 2....if there is room. New players should probably get first shot.

Not really a schedule. The game itself will take several weeks but each task usually has its own timetable. I try to be generous with it so people don't have to be online constantly to get things done. If a player will be away for a couple of days without access, we can usually work around that, too. Basically, we try to make it as smooth as possible without requiring excessive time. I will do my best.

How much commitment does this require? I'm interested, but will be limited to the time between noon and 6 pm Eastern for participation.

That would be fine. It doesn't require a huge committment. I would avoid the game if you will be away for several days, several times in the next month, but if you are around a couple of times a day almost every day, you should be fine.

Cool, up to 5. First post updated. Couple of iffys that might join, also, but I didn't include iffys in the official list.

I'm not expecting to be away for longer than just a day at the beach. And even then, that would be on a Sat/Sunday at my normal working hours, when I don't have FOFC access anyway. I should be able to tune in every 24 hours, barring disaster, of course.
You can go from there whether that's enough, MJ4H.

Now we are talking.
I will leave this up for the better part of today, then we will move forward. 8 is a good number, but more is good, too. |

Looks like we are all set to go. The mole selection has been made so look for a start time in the next couple of days. I will probably start a new thread in the next day or so and ask all the players to check in there before we start!
