greatest duking of all time?

Here is my vote:
Werewolf LVII: Beneath the Iron Cross - GAME OVER, VILLAGERS WIN! - Front Office Football Central

With a couple of posts pulled out from the thread for those who don't want to read the whole thing:

Heck, I even promise to release the name of another wolf if the Duke makes this happen. It would totally be worth it, even if it doesn't help us win the game.

Here is the hook for the real duke.

To the Duke out there - I'm pulling for you to make the right decision tonight. Getting a two-for-one is the best thing you could ever do for the village.

Mr. Unnamed Wolf - you know who you are - yours is the name I'll give away if given the opportunity.

This is not entirely honest, as we will see later ....

Yep, very interesting two days later. Thanks for making it fun to read, BK.

That's possibly 3 villagers lost to one wolf, 4 if he ends up being the brutal wolf.

Granted, if he actually gives us a wolf, that's a 2 for 2 exchange, maybe even 3 wolves to 1 villager if the duke, whoever that may be, dukes correctly tonight.

Interesting discussion at least.

How interesting was it post-deadline, EF?

The end result is complicated and interesting. Give me a minute... or fifteen.

Three cheers for the duke!

Oh, it was legendary all right. Just not in the way I intended.

ArlingtonColt quickly shouts out. "OVERRIDE! CODE 8675309! Select specimen: EagleFan!"

Neon Chaos buzzes and whirs. The monitors light up.

The obelisk appears, and the beam shoots out. Eaglefan is quick, however. He grabs Passacaglia and they both get stunned. Neon Chaos is unable to distinguish between the two bodies, as Eaglefan clutches on to Passacaglia's neck. They are taken into the chamber. A flash of light, and it is over.

You are all stunned at this turn of events. It seems that EagleFan was quite the brute. And Passacaglia was nothing more but a villager. You eye hoopsguy, ArlingtonColt, and ntndeacon. What a day...

Night 2 Begins: Actions are due at 10 AM CST

Well, that did not work out well. The following day was dull, but there were some real fireworks two days later. This one is worth a read if you have never skimmed this game.

Looks like a bad play that got really lucky. No way you should duke it off of a known wolf.

I remember that. That was only like his second game or so also, wasn't it?

It was hilarious. I forget if I was still alive, but I remember pulling my hair out at people even considering listening to hoops.

Path, I know it was one of a very small number of games that Arlington Colt played.

My runner-up would be X-Com, which was suggested by Tyrith in the other thread. In terms of a game-breaking duking, I think it was the most dramatic one ever. Late in game, pretty much decided the outcome. I'll probably go pull some posts from that one tonight.

I think I would have Schmidty's 3rd on the list, as there was a very high "Wow!" factor when it went down and it took out the uber-powerful bad guy role.

Anyone else have ones that really resonate for them?

I don't see how this duking could be so awesome. Any play that results in me dying is obviously one of the worst.

I am a big fan of when Schmidty duked Hoops in the money game.

Alan, would a duke hitting a villager really be "greatest" duking?

Dramatic? Yeah, it was a big turning point in that game although Chief Rum nearly came in to clean up the mess afterwards with really strong end game play.

And why do so many of these dukings involve me???

For that reason alone I'm glad that Schmidty got Tyrith in this last game.

No probably not the greatest duking. I just said it because he duked you and that is always worth props

That is also why he was my N1 kill as a wolf in the Athens/Hades game - revenge served up very, very cold.

How about a wolf duke taking us off a wolf and onto a villager and getting away with it? Alan pulled that off in Cathedral I, and completely snowed me.

maybe not the greatest, but for me one of the most notable, was the Hang Em High game when bek was the duke and on day one was the lynch...promptly duking it off of himself directly on to SackAttack, who was the seer.

I'd like to see a recap from that game.

How long ago was it?

Dola - it has been over four years of playing WW. That was my 2nd game and the first one as a wolf (convert, but a wolf starting Day 2).
