The Seattle PD may be in trouble after issuing this beatdown...

Around 1:45 is where it gets pretty bad.

Video | Seattle Times Newspaper

Quote:
Seattle police have launched an internal investigation into the arrest in June of a suspect by three officers who used their fists, batons, a flashlight and a Taser to subdue the man at the department's Georgetown evidence unit.

The arrest, which was captured on a police surveillance video, came a day after the man was mistakenly released from the King County Jail.

Daniel Macio Saunders, 46, had been arrested and jailed June 6 for investigation of burglary and vandalism after he allegedly broke into a Rainier Valley church, naked and covered with blood. Saunders has hepatitis C, a contagious and dangerous blood-borne illness, which resulted in the cleanup of the church being treated as a hazardous-materials situation.

Saunders was mistakenly released from jail June 10 when prosecutors failed to alert the jail that charges had been filed. The prosecutor's office blamed the mistake on a paperwork error.

Not good.

That being said, if he had just laid down and not resisted at all I wonder if that outcome would have been different.

At least they've stopped doing that to teenage girls in holding cells.

Wow...don't fuck with the popo. Actually he never really looked like he was resisting or doing much. They sort of grabbed him as soon as he opened the door for them and started whaling on him. I love that guy stepping on his head while the other guy beats his legs with a baton.

How could they not expect that to get out, I bet he needed medical attention.

He definitely was resisting for the first minute. After that it looks like they got control of him, but kept whaling on him. The end did show him on a stretcher so I'm sure he needed medical attention.

Why not just taser him in the first place? The rest of the stuff seems excessive.

Why make you do a field sobriety test while the cop is holding the breath analyzer? You know he is going to make you blow into it anyways. Sometimes, the police need to have fun too.

I wonder what happened in the 20 minutes of that tape that were skipped and why did it take 20 minutes to get medical help over there?

Resist arrest, yes you deserve a beatdown, but this was excessive.

I defend/support Police as strongly as anyone, but are you telling me that three Officers who had him controlled, were all bigger and likely stronger than him could not get the cuffs on any sooner? It was apparent he could not move and was pretty much pinned to the floor.

I understand the adrenaline gets pumping but wow, a bit much IMO.

I pretty well firmly believe that if you strike a cop, you will pay a physical toll. This toll seemed to be a bit excessive.

There is one piece of garbage that will deserve a beatdown(and no, nothing is too excessive for this slime) here in Buffalo after running over my wifes nephew a few days ago.
