Final day of the season!

If Balzac and Boston both win, they'll go to a best of 3 playoff series vs each other to determine who makes the postseason.

In the Republic League:

If Maricopa wins they get homefield advantage.
If Maricopa loses and Cleveland wins, the two teams will play 1 more game to determine who gets home field advantage
If Cleveland wins OR Virginia Beach loses, Cleveland gets the final playoff spot.
If Cleveland loses AND Virginia beach wins, Cleveland and Virginia Beach will play a best of 3 playoff series to determine who makes the postseason...

Whew

Both teams end up 95-67 and will play a best of 3 series vs each other. As Balzac led the season series between the two teams 13-10, they will have homefield advantage for the best of 3 series.

Maricopa clinches home field advantage in the RLCS, while Cleveland clinches the final RL playoff spot!

Virginia Beach ends the season 100-62 and I believe the first team to ever win 100 games and not make the postseason in FOOL-X history.

Glad to see we didn't finish in the cellar this time around!

Gotta admit though, I was worried for a bit when we were trailing the expansion teams!

Vicente Perez sets a new single season record with 215 RBI!! The previous record had been 190, set by Ignacio Guerrero in 1979.

Alfredo Tarungo sets a new record with 10 Complete games in a season!

Sheesh. Are all your guys' seasons this crazy? lol...

Head nod to fellow expansionee Stafford, which seems to have put up at least a decent team in its first year of existence.

As for the Hibbies, we're pretty happy with how things are looking. We were bad, but not embarassingly bad.

Good luck to the playoff teams!

With 2 100 game losing expansion teams, winning 100 games means pretty much nothing to me.

Grats to the playoff teams.

The new file is up, it is larger than normal (50+ MB) because of a bunch of new images/team logos/etc).

Playoffs will run tomorrow morning!

Expansion teams, let me know if there are any issues with logos/team jerseys/etc. They should all be in the file now (other than Cumberland's jersey which I just haven't had time to work on yet. Hopefully will next week!)

I think Vicente Perez wins the Joe Carter clutch award. He hit a ton of Home Runs and a bazillion RBIs, but otherwise was just a very solid season. He just seemed to always drive home runs.

Can't seem to get to the file. In-game says can't connect to FTP server, and the fool-x.net link in the league files thread is also down.

I'll try back later.

I couldn't get into the FOOL web site about 15-20 minutes ago when I went to see if any web reports had gone up. But the web site is up now. Maybe it was a temporary blip?

I was able to snag the file fine. I kept getting an error when trying to export though.

I'll have to re-try.

A nice 51-save season for Duridar Bausi, fourth-highest all-time. Boston now has two of the top 4 save seasons, with Myron Moran's 54 in 1972 leading the way.

Alan, did you see my compensation issue in the off season thread? Just wondering if anything will come of it next season, or if I just let a guy leave for nothing.

Congrats to the playoff teams. I gotta get the Lions turned around, and these ~.500 seasons are not going to do it either way.

Wow, epic badness.

I really didn't intend to be that uncompetitive but expansion turned out to come in a bad week for me, time wise. Letting the AI do it all rather than half assing a few rounds of my own picks was a bad idea, it seems the AI expansion drafts for the future, and very poorly at that. Oh well, at least we don't have a lottery so I can console myself with the first pick. And i'll have a lot of cash to throw around in FA.

Damn you Stelmack!! I blame Washington for not beating you in the last games of the season. Blech. But I'm so happy to see Perez' season, that's by far the best performance I've had power-wise.
