X-COM: Collector's Edition
I'm anxiously awaiting UFO:Aftermath (which is starting to concern me with the early user reviews on their message board) and I'm getting an itch to play X-Com again, however, I can't seem to find the UFO:Terror from the Deep disk which is the only one I still had in my possession (I think I lost it in my last move.) I never purchased the original cause I was too poor in college and just used my roommate's version of the game. I never got X-COM: Apocalypse for similar reasons in medical school. Anyway, my question is: Does anyone know if the X-Com Collector's edition which includes X-Com: UFO Defense, X:COM - Terror from the deep, and X-Com: Apocalypse would all run (and be playable) on a new computer with Windows XP. I'm most concerned about the original, UFO Defense, but I'm also concerned about Terror from the Deep. If they would run on my computer, I think I'm going to buy the collector's edition for a nostagia trip. Thanks for the feedback.

the collector's edition does run on a new machine with XP, I run it on mine. Some of the stuff is a little fast, but I think you can slow it down in the options.

I totally forgot about the new game. X-com was one of my all-time favorites.

Thanks for the reply. I'm definitely going to purchase it. Now I just need to decide which online store to get it from (as I doubt any regular stores carry it in stock.)

Well, I can't seem to find it any stores online either. I've made a bid on an EBay auction (which my wife is still not thrilled about, but decided to agree since it is not too much money.) However, if this bid is not successful, and anyone wants to sell their copy, I'd be interested.

Well, I just lost my first EBAY auction ever, as the bid went up 12 dollars in the last minute. I really wish I had won too, because I can't seem to find this game anywhere even in the online stores.

See if this link can help. Kind of expensive, but I guess it depends on how desperate you are.

Actually, I did look at that link before, but thanks for pointing it out. I agree that 65 dollars is just too expensive to justify at this point. Again, thanks for the link though.
