Sammy Stephens is my new favorite rapper/furniture salesman. He sells that song he is so good, I am loving it.

I feel compelled to buy at least a lamp shade from there. I wonder if he ships overseas?

A commercial? After making that I can clearly see why you wouldn't have seen it on TV as a commercial. Perhaps you have some local music video show at night? Or public access? Because this guy saw how good he was and said there was no way he was going to give it away for free. Too bad for him someone got their hands on it and put it on YouTube.

Probably because it was part of a newspaper contest (of sorts). http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/...en/index2.html edit to add: Although apparently a cut down version of the rap did turn into a commercial that started airing last September ... and ended up on national TV http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/...=2006611290317

I have no idea how I missed this post. This video had me in tears. I wish I could learn about his backstory. Was this a struggling rapper that turned to selling furniture and decades later found an opportunity to sell his wares by way of the rap.

Having never seen this commercial before, it certainly makes this clip make more sense:
