Dumb ass game started a reliever in Game 4. My opening game starter would have been on normal rest.

And then fudged up the order in Game 5. Not my postseason, obviously.

We have a rematch of last year's FOOL Classic which saw Baltimore beat Hammersmith in 9 games. In fact the last four times either of these teams reached the FOOL Classic, it was versus each other. (2043, 2044, 2051 and 2055)

Both teams have a decent sized bullpen and 4 man rotations, but Hammersmith used plenty of relief pitchers. We'll see if the tired bullpen effects either team's chances. After game 5, they'll get an off day to rest up some.

Hammersmith relies on rookie Zhang Li in game 9. Li pitched this season in AAA but was called up to the majors just to pitch in these playoffs. Thus far he has not disappointed as he has gone 2-1 with a 2.05 ERA this postseason. Can the youngster stand up to the pressure of a game 9 though?

Baltimore counters with a rookie of their own, Tony Castro. Castro went 18-11 with a 3.49 ERA during the 2056 season and is under consideration for this year's Benny Myers award!

The new file is up!

We take tomorrow off, the next sim is Thursday morning.

If you haven't already done so, please comment on the FOOL rule change discussion thread. I'm looking for people's feedback this week.

Thanks!

Congrats CR!

I didn't think I had it in me. Plus, I once again forgot to set the vs L&R without DH lineups, so we probably would have gotten smashed in the classic had we gotten there.

Yay RL!

Terrific. Very tight series. I am glad to see bringing up Yi turned out wonderful. Can't wait to see what he does in a full season.

Valentin turned out to be a great Opening Day signing. While his regular season performance was okay, not great, he was awesome in the postseason, hitting 6 HRs, including three in Game 2 of the Classic. He didn't even lead the team, though--rookie Andrew Joseph hit 7. I have always been a CON team first, but for whatever reason, it seems that my lineup has evolved into low CON, power hitting squad with Valentin, Joseph, Serrano and Mozcado. Go figure.

Congrats to the other playoff teams and good luck this offseason.
