Anyone use Swagbucks.com?

Does anyone here use Swagbucks.com to earn points for searching? I just started and just picked up a $5 Amazon e-gift card for free with 45 swag points after a couple of weeks.

Basically all you do is search via their website a couple of times a day and earn bucks for searching. They say their site uses an engine that combines Google and Ask.com but I rarely even click the links after I get the bucks for searching.

I read about the site on CAG and Slickdeals but did a search and was surprised no one mentioned it here. The site is legit and only take a few seconds a day. I've got a $5 Amazon e-gift card sitting in my email now. Pretty cool.

If you want to sign up, please do so via my referral link. I get points if you sign up and when you search.

I've seen a few people reference it with links on their Facebook pages but that's the extent of my knowledge about it.

Biggest question I've got (after reading your description of it) is whether there is anything that has to be downloaded in any way.

I'm giving it a twirl after seeing this. So far I've seen options to download a toolbar and/or an add on to enable it as one of the options in the standard search box. We'll see how it goes, but so far nothing that is setting off any alarms with me.

You do not have to download anything. No downloading toolbars or clicking links or anything. You just search and get points for searching right there on the website. The only other way to earn points is to refer people, hence my link above. I signed up with my usual spam mail address but haven't received anything from them except for the gift card.

There are a lot of different prizes available on their site but to be honest everyone I've seen only buys the Amazon GCs.

Sorry, I should have made that clearer in my post too. I wasn't forced to download anything, but the options are made available if you don't want to have to go to their website to do your searches.

I use it. If you refer people to it, it's a really good deal. My wife referred me and gets some amount of points of everything I get and she's probably gotten like $20 off Amazon orders just for searching the web. Swagbucks sucks for images, but other than that it's OK.

The Colts have a swagbucks search that I use as my home page. I've had it for a little over a year. In that time, I've got Lego Star Wars for Xbox 360, and about $30 worth of gift cards for my wife for amazon or barnes & noble. It's fairly simply, powered by google, and if nothing else it doesn't take long to earn a $5 gift card to several different sites.

FYI- Today is Swagbucks' 2nd birthday and they're giving away a lot of bonus points today.

Go to this Swag blog post for a code (at the bottom, in bold) that you can enter in the "Enter Swag Code" box for 20 bonus points.

While I definitely appreciate the info, I have to say that might be one of the more confusing scavenger hunts I've ever tried.

There's no code at the bottom of the blog post, only a hint about where the code could/should be found. But I've tried pretty much every permutation of that clue I can think of & see nothing of interest. Then tried several different swagbucks blogs & site, which also do the hint thing but what they're describing as finding doesn't match what I'm seeing either.

My suspicion (based on the additional clues & comments on the fan blogs) is that you may have to be logged into your account to actually see the code.
edit to add: Either that or my adblock is killing whatever is supposed to appear.

It could be the adblock, but being logged into your account is necessary as well.

I was referring to the code they posted on the blog which anyone can input. This scavenger hunt thing is super confusing and probably not worth the time. The 20 point code is given right at the bottom of that blog post I linked to above, they wanted you to "find the phrase" earlier but abandoned that strategy and just put the code up there so everyone could use it. The scavenger hunt is something different.

Okay, now I think I get it (maybe). The code that's posted simply looked (to a newbie) like instructions on where to head to enter the code, not the actual code itself.

And yes, I'm intentionally remaining vague about the actual phrase since I've read how touchy they are about anyone referencing it directly.
