Question(s) about trading in a game system
I'm going to be trading in my xbox 360. Just don't play it at all and am wondering what I need to do to make sure none of my personal information gets carried forward. Is it as simple as formating my 20 GB storage drive?

How much do you expect to get from a trade in? Wouldn't you do better selling it? I know, not everyone wants that hassle though. Just curious.

yep, just format the drive and make sure you have 1 controller , thats necessary for most places to take the trade in. your probably looking at 40 - 75 bucks through trade in though depending where you go. could probably double that at least if you sold on CL

With an Xbox 360, maybe, maybe not. Depends on how old it is, I would imagine. If it's a 20 gig, it may be old enough that the secondary market wouldn't yield much more, if anything, than he'd get by simply trading it in. Even with brand-spanking-new units at retail, there are people who are nervous about the system. Were it almost any other console, I'd agree that selling it would be the better route, but in this case, he probably doesn't lose much by just trading it in. |

I was told I'd get $90 trade in at Gamestop. Throw in all my other extra stuff and I figure I'll get about $125 total. I'd much rather sell it outright but I'm not sure I'd get that much more for it since you can buy a brand new one for $200.
I might just keep it...haven't made up my mind. Just realize I play my PS3 a heck of a lot more and most of the exclusives on 360 don't interest me at all. |

I sold my 360, paired with 3 controllers and an HDMI cable for $250 on craigslist. Couldn't hurt to list it for a week or two.
