RIP Jose. EDIT to add: some asshat made some really f'd up statement on his death on Wiki. Probably gets corrected soon but why do people do that kind of crap? (yes...rhetorical) Last edited by SteveMax58 : 05-23-2010 at 04:21 PM. |

He was only a week older than me. Norman Hand, now Jose Lima? Ok, no more 37 year olds die, ok?

Sucks to see this. And, yeah, the 37 year old thing has me looking over my shoulder.

Way too young. There have been a lot of alarming deaths in the past few weeks (two folks that I know in Morgantown died in auto accidents this past week) for me.
I thought this was kind of odd writing in the ESPN.com article: Quote:
Really? Do you need to check the team's website to figure out that someone that played for the Houston Astros in the 90s or 00s was a teammate of Craig Biggio? |

I am guessing, actually, that the quote is from the team's web site. The article writer probably did not speak with Biggio directly.

While the modifier might be dangling, it would appear from the sentence construction that the quote came from the Astros website, not the fact that Lima and Biggio were teammates.

Ah... I see. A terribly written sentence for a journalist, but I see what the intention is after reading it a couple more times.
I just thought it was oddly phrased after initially reading it. Last edited by Swaggs : 05-24-2010 at 12:12 AM. |

Not sure how Joe Poz can write so much, and this good...

2003 was a magical season, to be sure. And, yes, Poz is the best sportswriter in the country, hands down.
