I don't get this whole 'dragged to the theater' bit. You don't want to see a movie? Don't f'in go. There are movies I like, there are movies my wife likes and there are movies we like. Luckily, we have a pretty big common ground and I don't force my wife to watch a movie that I know she won't. She'll find a friend or I'll find a friend or we just wait until the DVD comes out...

I know her well enough that I just say 'You will NOT like this movie' and ever since the Great Kung Pow incident of 2002 she listens to me. (I went to the theater to see that with a friend and she insisted on going despite me telling me repeatedly that she will find this an absolute suckfest and wonder just why I was laughing.. After the movie she said it was the worst thing she has ever seen and would never doubt me again)

One of my co-workers has a wife that absolutely insists that everything she watch, he watch and vice versa... I mean, everything from TV to Movies to concerts. I'm all for doing things as a couple, but when you make the other person miserable for 2 hours (or force yourself to be miserable) eh...

You might need to point your coworker to the Marriage and Distractions thread.

If this was real life, a boyfriend/husband with some good coin (or fame; or both) would do much better then "Carrie" (or Sarah Jessica Parker).

I just find it funny that girls think they all deserve a rich, good-looking, charming guy (besides the small minority of pretty, realistic girls who have might want other things).

The sad part is that most women today think that is how is the way things should be. They see shows like this and the other comedies on TV where women rule the roost and expect that is how relationships should go.

As a married man, I can say without reservation that women DO rule the roost.

My pre-marriage counseling consisted of learning two very important words, "I'm sorry."

True, but we think all women should be pornstars in the sack...right?

Bottom line, we're all out to lunch on who has the upperhand. As soon as you think you've got it you are already trying to figure out how to get it back because the balance shifts that quickly.

Personally, I don't pretend to know what is going on instead I just roll with the punches and try to keep and level head.

I would shag Kim cattrall in a heartbeat. Kristin Davis is boring looking to me, and the other two couldn't have personalities good enough to get my dick twitching.

Personally, I'd like to know: where are all these nymphomaniac women who will immediately lust after you and hop in the sack with you with just a sultry look cast their way. I see them all the time in the movies...but I've yet to meet one in real life...dammit!

That's because you live in South Florida and it's too damn hot to have sex there...

Those women in the 'movies' are getting paid to do that stuff. Try paying them in real life, I'm guessing you will start to see results.

No, no, no. If they're in the movies, they've got to be REEEAL! These women have got to be somewhere.

Just a heads up. Watch for the packs of blinged out Cougars next Wednesday.

Anyways, from the trailers, I think Kristen Davis is creeping across the chasm from "hit" to "pass."

I actually liked the show a decent amount considering the material, and I could understand why people would want to see the first movie, but who the fuck wants to see these idiots running around on camels?

Unfortunately my wife.

I pretty much drew my line in the sand on the first movie and told her I was not going. So we haven't had any confrontations about this one thus far!

If they're actually running on camels, that could be funny.

I think it'd also be funny to mock people going to the theater. Probably not worth trying to take the baby to, or getting someone to babysit for, though.

I did invite them to see Kick-Ass and they all said no. I seriously need to find gals pals that have interests similar to mine.

I watched two episodes just to see what the hell it was and came away that the four women were painted to be the hottest thing since rice. No way they would have that kind of success in the real world in terms of dating.

I saw it (part 2)....Anyone else?

Not as "good' as the first, but as someone else pointed out in this thread - actually just as good, or perhaps better, than bullshit sitcoms like Friends.

But damn did they all look old. I think the producers tried to make them look as young as possible for the 1st movie, and this time were like, "fuck it". Which is somehow refreshing, I guess. They're very much portrayed as middle-aged broads desperately trying to hold on.

And Kristen Davis is still hot for 45. And shit, Kim Cattrell isn't bad at all for 53 (at least her body - which is actually quite ridiculous for a chick in her 50s).

I laughed a bunch of times, I'm not going to lie to you people. But I didn't even get laid, so whatever....

Seriously? Better than Friends? Even small doses of Sex and the City give me a headache. I can't even be within earshot when my wife watches it because it makes me want to kill.

I was mildly curious about the sequel, but I didn't feel like going out. I just watched Hidalgo on TV and pretended that it was Cynthia Nixon riding on Sarah Jessica Parker's back around the desert. I think I actually came out ahead on that deal.
