Tech Spending Spree
Question for you guys. If you have $10k to spend what things would you buy right now to interface with your TV, Internet, and Phone?

By interface with, do you mean anything from surround sound to graphics cards to blue tooth head pieces?

The only thing I'm really missing in my current setup is a good stereo receiver and surround sound system. I have my living room wired for surround sound, but really haven't done any research (or put any money aside) for a sound system. Come to think of it, maybe I SHOULD get on that, considering I have almost everything else I could think of (nice HDTV, game consoles, etc).
I would also blow some money on a nice BT headset for my phone. I have a cheapo, but would prefer the sound isolation that the more expensive ones offer. /tk

Is there enough 3D content yet though? I know there's some DVDs and Blu Rays, but as far as broadcast content, I'm not aware of any. Now that I think about it, the million dollar question from me is, what is this for?

Heh, it's for our training room here at work. We have been budgeted 10k to purchase "high tech" stuff for advanced installation configurations at customers homes. |

I'd pay a young female college student to stand next to the TV naked, and I'd have her turn the volume up whenever my wife would start screaming about why there's a young female college student standing next to the TV naked.

The world cup has been on TV in 3D and I'm pretty sure Discovery 3D is also available on DirectTV. A guy I play soccer with spent thousands on the TV, $400 on 3D glasses and it's a complete waste of time. Regular HiDef is a million times better than the 3D experience.

Well, if you can't do what Pumpy suggested (which I highly recommend), then definitely the latest gadgets along the lines of what you mentioned with Roku, Sling box, Harmony remotes, etc. Maybe see how they are compatible with Tivo and Apple TV, if that fits in the budget. Maybe give a look at Gizmodo and see if they've listed some things that didn't cross your mind yet?

Me personally no, but my company has a hard on about it right now, so I have to support it. |

I'd prefer Pumpy's suggestion. But I'll have to take a deeper look on Gizmodo. |

Matter of fact, I'm looking into the financial feasibility of Pumpy's suggestion. I have plenty of room in my living room!
