Of course not. Everyone loves me. Especially Jesus. Last edited by RedKingGold : 07-22-2010 at 07:13 PM. Reason: I edited my post to insert Dan's quote so that noone get's confused and thinks the above message is about terpkristen's pie. I don't want to get banned too. |

Laphroaig and Caol Ila are both very nice. Glenmorangie tastes like medicine to me, and I won't buy it. Your list touches the smokier peatier end of the scotch spectrum. There are some lighter highland single malts that are pretty affordable as well. Dalwhinnie comes to mind. My namesake runs $70+ per bottle. For affordability <$50 --Highland Park is a favorite in that ball park. --Aberlour 10 tastes better than most every 15-18 YO scotch I've tried, and it used to be available for $23 a bottle, now it is $45. I'm happy for them, but disappointed that everyone discovered my bargain brand and drove the price up. I can't do the Johnny Walker Red or Black, but Chivas is nice and a reasonably priced blend. FOF was the reason I came here the first time, it is definitely not the reason I stay here. FOF2004 is the last version I purchased.

I came to FOFC for RendeR's witty posts.
I stay because I have nothing else better to do. I will leave when I am no longer wanted. |

Oh and as usual I'm opposed to the length of the ban/boxing. Although not enough to actually go find the "drama", and complain about it.
It would only end up with me and my favorite mod trading PMs about how I've never forgiven him for the time I was boxed and it was later commuted after a review by a broader set of moderators. |

I was just wondering out loud. But I guess it could be between you (an amazing guy) and me ( a loser, can't even get a 20 year old girl to calm down enough to keep from spilling water on herself) and the loser wouldn't post for a month.

MG posts picture with visible, painted nipple.
Mod removes pic. MG reposts pic. MG boxed. MG loses it and starts reporting multiple image posts on forum with gimmicky "double-standard" message. Three month boxing for reposting image and reporting of multiple posts to f with the mods. That's how I understood it, anyway.

It wasn't even that noticeable until someone said something. There are more objectionable pictures in that thread and more objectionable things that are said on a day-to-day basis on this forum than what took place there.

If you are not a scotch snob you definitely do not want Laphroaig as your first scotch. It would be like losing your virginity to a Dominatrix. If you are a scotch snob, you already know if you want Laphroaig. Glenlivet French Oak is nice one that won't break the bank. I don't mind Glenlivet 12 (although 18 is much nicer). I also would recommend that if you don't like a scotch straight to try it on the rocks (I know its sacreligious to some) because the lower temp smooths it out a bit. Of course your mileage may vary. |

O RLY? What do I have to do, team up with MBBF and break Marc Vaughn's leg? Destroy the cowboy hat that Waylon Jennings gave JediKooter? Bunch of jabroni mothercanuckers, don't appreciate nothing. As far as i'm concerned, all the crap in this thread represents these posters out here. Because if it wasn't for JiMGA, you people wouldn't be here. If it wasn't for JiMGA, SkyDog would be still selling cracklins from a truck in Columbus. And if it wasn't for JiMGA, these Johnny Come Latelys that you see wouldn't be posting here.

It was at the start of the Blackjack Mulligan-Ric Flair feud in '78, the one that led to Mulligan destroying Flair's famed peacock robe. Some versions of the story say it was a gift from Willie Nelson.

Your mind became weak and "Jon" became boring. I come here Jon to tell you...next week i intend to launch a revolution not even YOU can control. I ask you to find the courage - check it out! I haven't been around much lately, but mostly I am wondering what this thread is about? It appears to be another random FOFC thread about nothing, the Seinfeld thread of the interwebs I suppose.

Nice analogy on Laphroaig. Also rather than ice to smooth things out. I like a "generous" splash of water. I figure about one fourth to one fifth volume of water really opens up the flavors of the scotch. Ice, to me, removes the flavor. I use room temp bottled water for this. |
