You have a reason to be upset - you got smashed by the village. Don't blame it on balance. You started the game up 2-0. Don't blame clap for this, I don't have a problem with the game balance. You can blame me for your loss, like I said before - if I hadn't followed PF and Abe scans Lathum, what happens on day 2? It could've easily been 4-0 and then even if we nailed one of you it's near over. Spy + bodyguard + seer vs brutal + cunning + regular wolf. You haven't seen that before, really? Common. That's even. |

Even with a mayor role involved, they could easily make the wrong decision. Hell, Lathum's decision to lynch Tecmo was based on his gut, nothing else. What if he chose wrong? Donno if I'm stepping out of line here but I don't think clap has anything to feel bad about in the balance of this game. It's hard to balance games when not many people sign up.

I'm sorry did we have a BG? Who was it? Who'd they guard. Did I miss that?

USFL - I almost followed you last night instead of Abe. You were very under the radar, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I put aside any thoughts I had about you being new to the game and took it straight and you were definitely high on my suspicion list.
I'm not saying its a good idea to be very vocal all the time, but contributing bits and pieces will get you looked at. |

Yeah, I looked at DT cause I thought he wasn;t adding much, just talking so I scanned him. Perhaps I was totally wrong, and my perception was just that he as, but it was still enough to ting me and make me thank a second time. And DT is an established player.
On two occasions I have totally outed myself as a wolf in a post and no one has caught it. I used the wrong pronoun twice. No one voted for me.

Yeah, my entire strategy, especially with the cunning role, was to try to stay off the radar as much as possible, and when I DID say something, come off as not really knowing what I was doing, which is somewhat true, but not as much as I was trying to lead people to believe. This was only the second time in the handful of games I've played that I've had a wolf role, so I really didn't know what to do, besides some of the more obvious pitfalls of switching votes near the end.
Live and learn, I suppose. I think I'll be doing a lot of that in the next few games. |

Most games come down to luck, but people that have played with each other a bunch of times definitely get reads.

Yup, Lathum sometimes just amazes me. here I am thinking geez, he must be off his game. Brutal Wolf? Duke? Just bored? Distracted? Feeling Ornery? Blade found his account? Then boom, he comes out of nowhere to nail the one major factor we all feared - the cunning.

I think WW on the board was a different game back then. It's much, much nicer now.

Yeah, but my rule is exactly the same when I am the BG. I don;t wan tot lose a potential valuable asset, so I will BG you when I have no other obvious options. Now, I do not usually autokill you or Lathum when I am a wolf. I'd rather hit the next tier of solid veterans and leave you and Lathum in the game. As a wolf, I fear Chief Rum more than you two. He can come into the game after being quiet, and just murder you with blistering accuracy.

I know, I just have not had fun being a wolf in forever because I'm scanned so early. I think the last time I had a successful wolf run was in one of your games where I was converted by Lathum (shudder). But as a starting wolf, I have to go back even farther to find a game where I was alive as a wolf after Day 3 without being scanned, followed, or whatever other villager roles can mess with the wolves. The flipside is that I have had a lot of good villager runs, or at least the freedom/latitude to mess things up as a villager |

OMG. I can't believe there was a bodyguard too. That's fucking ridiculous. even? bullshit! in a game this size the spy essentially became a second seer because he had such a high % chance of following someone who was doing something. i'm sympathetic to the plight of the GM who has to balance the game, but wow...c'mon. not even.

Don't be upset because you got unlucky, and don't act like this is the first time we've had a game balanced like this. You're just on the wrong side of it!

The seer can't identify the cunning. Only the spy can, and only if they make the right call, and only if people believe them.

Right, but DT was in line to knock off Jackal as the brutal if Lathum didn't duke to me. There's no way a BG could block the brtual kill, and I was willing to take my chances that either there wasn't a BG, or they were going to cover Jackal, and not Abe. Still probably not the wisest move, but I was hoping to eliminate another known innocent. |
