PC Monitors
I'm assuming everything is 1080p at this point? Looks like response times and contrast don't differ much. Are certain brands better than others? I'm pretty much game for everything except HP. Looking for maybe a 25" and won't really be gaming on it. Thanks.

Well, 1080P is 1920X1080, and 16:9 ratio. There are some monitors that are 1920X1200, which is a 16:10 ratio, and gives you a little more real estate. If you are looking in the 25 inch range, the resolutions go even higher, up to 2560X1600.
A client of mine that does oil and gas exploration just ordered some workstations spec'd with 2 30 inch monitors, for a total of 5 feet of screen with a combined 5120X1600 resolution.

Dell makes a great product. I have 2 20 inch monitors from them. 1 is 6 years old and the other is 3 and was a warranty replacement/upgrade. Both still look and work like a charm but I did shell out quite a bit for them at the time.

As for brands, I've been using Samsung LCDs for over 8 years now, and have great luck with the 10 I've bought over that time. Only had one go bad, but their warranty service got it back to me within a week of when I sent it in.

I had a Dell flake out on me weeks after the warranty expired. I have had good luck with two HP monitors. All were/are in the 24 inch range.

The Dell U2410 is a great monitor with a great warranty. It's 16:10 so you'll have a little more vertical real estate.

The Dell UltraSharps are a little more expensive but they have an amazing warranty. I believe they all have 3-years where if any pixel goes out, they'll fix/exchange it for free. Even mail you a box to send it in.

I just recently bought a Samsung PX2370 - great monitor, was highly reviewed on CNET and other sites, and looks great.
