I've heard a lot about it....but none of it made me actually want to watch it. 100% medically accurate!

Morbid curiosity led me to read details about what happens in this movie, and that's enough for me to give the following thoughts:

Fuck no.

I first saw the trailer for this a couple weeks ago and almost posted about it here then. The gist of my post was going to be "W...T...F..."

Well, the only thing darker than the movie as a whole was the ending. Just...man...

Since I had heard so much about it, I wasn't stunned by most of what I saw, but the ending is pretty heavy.

I thought it was going to be a YouTube clip of a bunch of college kids re-enacting the video game Centipede. Now that I realize it isn't, I'm too let down to bother watching whatever it actually is.

For those of yout that worried that this movie was too tame, don't worry! It was just a warmup for the sequel!!

"(The Director) has said how it had always been his intention to make two Centipede films, with the first film existing to get his audience used to the sick idea in order that the second could be much more nasty, with way more medical experiments in a way that would have been impossible in the original, and would have destroyed any chance of the film being made"

Man... the end of that trailer about made me sick.

It leads me to this question:

what worse? back of centipede or middle of centipede?

Looks pretty - er, interesting I guess. I really thought it was a gag at first because the two "actresses" in the beginning were god awful!

Yeah. The acting in the opening part was bad enough that I thought it was a commercial before the actual preview started.

I heard that Meryl Streep and Gwyneth Paltrow were the first choices, but they turned it down.

haha me too! Luckily, neither one of them is the front of the Centipede. That means they don't have any lines for half the movie!

I just saw this. Working on a review for my blog, but for now I'll just that it was actually pretty boring and repetitive. The director only had one original idea and that was the premise. Everything else in the film is completely generic. It only exists to be disgusting and that could have been accomplished in ten minutes instead of ninety.

This reminds me, I need to get back to my plan of watching the most controversial movies of all time. Last one I watched in full was 'Cannibal Holocaust', and I still have 'Salo' in the queue.

I am required to award stars to movies I review. This time, I refuse to do it. The star rating system is unsuited to this film. Is the movie good? Is it bad? Does it matter? It is what it is and occupies a world where the stars don't shine.

FYI for those with Netflix. Just noticed this one is now available for instant streaming. Not sure I can stomach it.

Definitely sicker in your imagination than in execution. There's only the one scene where bowel movements come into play and you don't actually see anything, but your mind does a very good job of describing it to you. And yes that's more than enough, any more than that and it would be unwatchable. It's not really about that though, the movie is more about the feeling of being powerless since these people are tied together and can't get away. The ending is pretty bleak but how did you really expect it to end anyways?

It does sound pretty disturbing. The IDEA of some of the scenes from the first movie were enough to make me feel sick to my stomach after watching it. Sounds like the 2nd one is much more graphic and depraved as the director had mentioned it would be.

I'm in.

The premise of the original was of course shocking and ridiculous...but there's plenty of horror movies that have far more gore/gross-out kind of moments. Of course, I'm sure they feel the need to top themselves in the sequel. Surprised the UK would just ban it though.

Think of the spoiler tag as a warning label in this case...
