I'm really worried now and will have to put my money where my mouth is. Hope Ruby does well.

Diego Segui was injured, but what was interesting is that they didn't move Blue Moon Odom into the spot.....I guess they want to see what the Kid can do

Wow my guy Ivan Carrillo was first put as #4 at 18 yo and then cut after he struggled as expected... lets see if the Expos give me more time to develop in AAA now.

State of the Diamond address
Seeing some young players like Nolan Ryan and our own Eddie Ingram emerge, with Ingram quickly gaining support as one of the top 3 hitters in the game. The pennant race in the AL East is shaping up as one of the best in years with the “big 3” of the 70’s going neck and neck as we enter summer. Oakland and St Louis are again in control of their respective divisions, but the biggest news of all comes from the NL West. Nothing seems more right than watching Walter Alston’s Dodgers battle Sparky Anderson’s Reds and as the weather heats up these two are going toe to toe for the NL the division title, with defending champion Houston lurking in the weeds.

Top Performances
• Al Mighty has one of his better months as a pro hitting .319 with an OPB of .368, he is hitting .373 with runners in scoring position for the season.
• Delavega continues to do good things out of the pen for Texas as batters hit just .169 against him in June and he lowers his WHIP for the season to 1.17.
• Steady Eddie Ingram scorches NL pitching at a .402 clip for June before he is bitten by the injury bug.
• The Minor league legend that is Willis Wilson rolls on hitting .467 in the month of June in triple A!
• The Mays to 1B experiment ends quickly in San Francisco and Otto Sevihn returns to the lineup in style hitting .357 for June.

Transactions
• Frank Cardoza is called up by the Rangers on June 10th

Injuries
• TC Crooks is having a nightmare year as he suffers a bicep injury on June 28th. His nagging aches and pains have limited him to just 12 starts so far.
• Diego Delavega sustained a minor Hamstring injury on June 29th
• Mathurin Hawkins sustains a minor knee injury on June 25th
• This is a big one as Eddie Ingram sustains a slight Hamstring tear and is placed on the 15 day DL
• Jace Hunter sustains a minor neck injury on June 25th in what is shaping up as our worst month for injuries yet.

Misc Notes
• Rick Inman of the Padres seems to be getting comfortable at 2B making slow but steady improvement and stroking his first 2 homers of the season.
• Frank Justice ends June on a tear hitting .409 over the last 7 days of the month
• Larry McGillicuddy is looking to be the heir apparent to Tony Perez in Cincy as he raises his average to .405 in triple A.
• Ryan Omark earns promotion to the #2 spot in the Expos rotation behind Steve Rogers
• Just when it looked like Mathurin-mania was set to fly again in Montreal he hits .127 in June and loses the starting job in CF to Roger Repoz
• Dan Schoonover is getting some support to start at 3B in Montreal as young Mike Schmidt is only hitting .182.
• Paul Ruby picks up his first Major League win June 14th beating the Yankees 9-3, but is struggling otherwise as opponents are batting .367 with runners in scoring position.
• Despite his poor numbers behind the plate O’olish Amaneh regains the starting C job due to his defense as he has thrown out 42% of would be base stealers, easily best on the team.

State of the Diamond address
Two all-stars from our crew as Otto Sevihn joins Eddie Ingram and has the added distinction of making Willie McCovey expendable. The Pennant races are not shaping up as thrilling as only 2 teams are closer than 8 games out and they are both chasing the Dodgers in the NL West, tough LA would seem to have a big advantage as they hold the 2nd best record against their own division in Baseball.

Top Performances
• Young Izulde Jestor continues to be solid in triple A for the Padres maintaining a .332 average while waiting for his shot.
• The Reds Max Muller swipes 13 bases in July giving him 25 for the season.
• Eddie Ingram of the Expos is elected as the starting 2B for the NL all-stars with 617,597 votes
• Once again Willis Wilson hits over .400 for July and swats 9 HR Puff n Stuff’s but can’t get a look from the Pirates.
• Pedro Gonzalez continues to sizzle in triple A hitting .367 in July for the Pale Hose
• Jace Hunter looks to have arrived for the Indians hitting .324 in July and reclaiming the 1B job.
• Despite being shuffled around all season, Otto Sevihn is selected to start for the NL all-stars with 668,358 votes.

Transactions
• None

Injuries
• TC Crooks breaks down yet again as an ankle injury puts him on the 15 day DL on July 20th as he throws just 19 1/3 innings for the entire month.
• Frank Cardoza sustains a minor foot injury on July 9th but misses no time.
• Gus Cantrell of the Reds sustains a minor leg injury which limits him to 3 starts in July
• Ryan Omark of the Expos sustains both wrist and leg injuries in July and is working his way back in a relief role.

Misc Notes
• Rick Inman of the Padres is having a solid season against left-handed pitching hitting .311 to date.
• After 2 months hitting well over .300 ‘Boo’ Bentley of the Padres slips to .238 in July.
• Frank Cardoza gets his first real shot taking over as the Rangers starting LF on July 2nd.
• Kuji Chagulia hits his first career HR on July 8th in an 11-7 win over the Phillies.
• Max Muller relinquishes the starting CF job on the Reds to Bobby Tolan, as his OBP slips to .294
• Dan Schoonover cranks his first MLB HR off of Tom House in a 5-3 loss to the Mets on July 2nd.
• The Giants Otto Sevihn is hitting .443 for the season with runners in scoring position.
